  1. Hey there. Quick update on this matter: Swapped CPU (a friend of mine had a broken laptop with the same cpu), temps are now fine. So there was a problem with the cpu. I have no idea what could be. So now i'm back to normal.
  2. Hey there again. Managed to see how Core voltage works and so on... So my cpu was at maximum 1.05v and minimum 0.8v Even after I downclocked it to -0.1v shift, it was running at 0.9 maximum voltage and no changes where made in cpu temperature. So I guess it's really old age??? could this be? I did push alot from it for a few years. sometimes I used it for 100% cpu usage for 24h straight. So nothing to be done here. I'll just wait untill it dies! He has done enough! Thank you for your help @Nord
  3. Hey everyone! New update: Just bought a new thermal paste, nothing changes! Cannot see what voltage cpu is using, everything just says default. So, it's not dirty pc. It's not thermal paste, it's not the fan, it's not the heatpipes. Any ideas to solve this problem?? Thank you all in advance!
  4. Just changed thermal paste again and now I'm at the 60ºC which is still very hot. Strange because I've changed the thermal paste like 1 month ago. am I doing something wrong? here are the pics I did during this process. Because the temps changed so much, could be the thermal paste that is no longer good. Maybe this part that I used now was better then the other as it was deeper in the tube? Anyway, i'll buy a new one as soon as I have the change and then report here. EDIT: after 30 min. of usage and reboots, I'm already at 65º-68ºc - so, almost back to the same as before.
  5. Hey there. Thank you for your help. -HWinfo is giving the same readings. -CPU heatpipes seem fine to me. can send a picture if you want. Fan seams fine, i feel alot of hair coming from the side vent. -I've cleaned the pc from dust and applied the thermal paste as ususal, just a pea size in the middle of the cpu and then slowly screw the heatpipes. Still i'm thinking on doing it again just to be sure (you never know). Could my thermal paste be ruined? i keep it in sealed and closed in the package but it's already 1 or 2yo. Only think left is to run the IntelXTU but I have no idea what to do here. I don't intend to over or underclock the cpu, everything is at default. What should I do inside the program? Is there a automatic check up tool to see if everything is running good?
  6. Hello there, my laptop is still running to hot. Changed thermal paste and just now I've reinstalled windows 10 but nothing works. when i bought it, temps would be arround 45ºc (113ºf) when hidle. now is at 73-80ºc (167-176ºf) even if i bring the clock speed down to a max of 1.4ghz The fan is noisy obviously! And the thermal paste I used is arctic mx-4, changed recently is it possible the age is doing this? without any other reason? Speclist: Intel core i7 4700mq - 1.4ghz (3.4ghz Turboboost) gtx765m 16gb memmory 2x ssd 128gb raid 0 hdd 750gb
  7. Thank you all! At the moment I use corona but for gpu render maybe will switch to fstorm. How did you see it will be at 8x?
  8. Hey everyone. Thanks for your help btw. Can’t seem to crack the explanations from this motherboard spec lists. Can I or can I not fit 3 GPU’s on a ATX Asus Prime X570-Pro for rendering. No sli or links required. Also,( this is the complicated part) will they run at x16 or x8 or what? If the answer is x8, is it enough or will I feel a performance drop? Thanks you all!
  9. No dust, I clean it regularly, including just now before repasting it. Thermal paste is arctic mx-4. when I say idle I do have windows 10 stuff running on the background but cpu usage jumps between 5-15% cpu usage. Also changing the power mode to power saving ( I believe caps cpu to around 1.0Ghz) changes nothing on temperature.
  10. Hey everyone! Thank you in advance for all your help. LTT comunity is extremely fast to repply. I have a Clevo w230st 13" laptop. My processor is an i7-4700mq. I have always had quite big thermal problems with this laptop but they do seem to be worse with time because now the fan is almost always running on Max speed, which is very very loud and annoying. My hidle themperature is 65º celcius, with no load on it. Just changed the thermal paste now, I've tryed just a small bean in the midle, a cross, a line, alot of paste, just a thin layer, nothing seems to work. Under 100% load themperatures reach the 90-95º celcius. Just by opening chrome or any other app, the fans go wild. Any sugestions or solutions for my problem? anyway i can bring this hidle temps to arround 40-50º? Thank you!!!!
  11. They actually didn't, it was just a rumour. But the same applies to gtx 1660 no?
  12. I believe so. But the fastest now are the gpu based renderers but they are limited because of graphics card memory. Only now with the rtx 2080 you can stack memory between cards. So hopefully it will be stable soon for renders. I think one day I'll go for blender but because I do architecture, I need some specific plugins and models that only exist for 3ds max.
  13. Corona is amazing compared to vray. Much faster to work with and also to render. One of the best features is the ability to turn on and off and edit intensity on the lights even after you render. Called light mix, check it on youtube to see how it works. progressive render is much better. Although Im curious to try the new vray next. At the moment I believe Corona is the best cpu renderer for 3ds max.
  14. 3ds max and Corona Render. But i didn't build the model. The model is incredible and its done by Kevin Yu I modified the model slightly and did all the materials.
  15. Hey guys. Just wanted to show some work I did a while ago rendering the suposedly 1180 ti that never came. Design inspired on the 1080ti. Hope you guys like it! Cheers
