  1. Thank you! The gpu was the problem, replacing it solved the it
  2. update: i've just got a call from the store i bought the card from, and they confirmed that it was indeed faulty, and they are sending me a new one (same 1080 ti model). the card should arrive in a few days and i'll update again when it does.
  3. I've sent the card back, they'll check in the lab if it's faulty or not. If they say it's completely functional then I might buy new ram, if it is indeed faulty they'll refund me and I'll just get the 2080 since it's pretty much the same price here
  4. its overclocked to 4.2ghz, i did see an improvement in performance but its still underperforming, i should be getting a lot more then 60 fps on average in the game and settings i mentioned
  5. in far cry new dawn 1440p ultra settings, im getting an average of 62fps and it goes down to 45 sometimes, i have seen benchmarks on youtube with the same gpu getting above 100 fps
  6. hi, i have 10gb of ddr3 1333mhz ram,(its 4+2+2+2), and i wanted to ask, is it enough for 1440p gaming?i recently upgraded my gpu from 1050ti to a 1080 ti and experienced bad performance so i've sent the card back to check if its faulty or not. but until it gets back i want to know if the bad performance could have been caused because of my ram. by bad performance i mean for example: in far cry new dawn 1440p ultra settings, im getting an average of 62fps and it goes down to 45 sometimes, i have seen benchmarks on youtube with the same gpu getting above 100 fps. but they had a newer cpu at a higher clock speed, and a lot more ram at a higher speed. could it be the ram?my specs:cpu: i7 4770k 4.2ghzgpu: Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti Aorus Xtreme motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VII RANGERram: 10gb DDR3-1333 / PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM UDIMMpower supply: corsair hx 1000i model: rps0004 (1000w)thanks
  7. i have read that my motherboard only supports ddr3 memory, is it worth the upgrade? and if so how much ram should i buy and at what speed?
  8. yes i will be getting it replaced by the company, since i bought it from them and the warranty is theirs. shouldnt be any problems, or at least i hope so
  9. yes it went to 99% usage but the fps dropped massively. why would the hard drive cause lag? and to the point of losing half the fps? i had 10gb of ram (2gb 2gb 2gb 4gb) but someone here mentioned that the last 2gb might cause a problem so i removed it, anyway it didnt really affect performance
  10. its a renewed card, bought it from a computer company so i thought it would be completely functional, but i might have gotten a bad card, i have 1 year warranty so ill get it replaced. thanks!
  11. like that? i've let it run in the background until i noticed the fps drop, waited a minute and screencapped it
  12. i overclocked it to 4.2 ghz (temps reach 75 so i dont want to go further), it increased the performance while playing before the fps drop happens, but i stil get extremely low fps after the drop. when you say cpu couldnt work well with just a 1080, did you experience the same problem as i do?
  13. tried 8gb and moving the card to a different PCIe slot. nothing seems to solve it. could it be that my cpu is not good enough for the 1080 ti? or maybe its because i dont have an ssd? or the ddr3 1333mhz is too slow? i really dont know what to do anymore
  14. i sold my old gpu and i dont have any other gpu to test it unfortunately
