  1. Thanks all! India is indeed hot but my rig is usually in an air conditioned room. I had no heating issues with my old rig phenom II x4 955 which was running on Asus m5a97 pro mobo. My old mother board temp was beteeen 32 to max 45 based on the stress. Based on my personal research, I found that MSI was a good choice for me due to availability in my place. My initial pick was MSI X470 Gaming Plus or Pro. Since I won’t be overclocking I thought I could go with B450 Gaming plus or Tamahawk. The difference is the chipset and price difference of 4K. So just wanted to know if B450 is a good choice for long run just to support the above config. My choice for 2700x over 2700 was purely on the base clock speed and have a best processor in that cader since I won’t be upgrading it unless it dies on me like my old phenome II x4 955. So in short I won’t have severe heating issues based on my region and the placement of the rig. Wanna know if B450 chipset would go nicely with the build on a long run since it’s 4k cheaper and I would invest that money on something else.
  2. Hi All, I’m from India and I need some guidance on my next build. So quick flashback, I had a Phenom II X4 955 build which gave away after 9 long years. So I’m planning to build a new work/gaming PC. New Build: Ryzen 7 2700X MSI B350 Tomahawk GSkill RIP jaws v series 8GB x 2 3200Mhz RAM Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 WINDFORCE OC 6GB Cooler Master MASTERBOX MB500 RGB Already used components from my old rig: 120 GB Samsung 750 EVO SSD - 1 year old Corsair CX600 PSU - 3 years old Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - 3 years old Purpose of the new build: The new build will be used to encode 720p/1080p x264 videos, gaming and streaming. I’m not interested in overclocking and I’m sure I won’t attempt to do one. I choose the 7x series just for the raw power of the multithreaded processor and threadripper is a bit costly for me. And I won’t be upgrading this new rig any time soon, look at my last rig I’m upgrading it after 9 years and only because the processor gave away lol. So below are my questions, I know it’s a bit long, hope you can help! 1. MSI B450 Tomahawk, do you think it’s a good fit for 2700x? I have seen Ryzen 7 series build with more or less x470 chipset. So X470 chipset is a must for Ryzen 7 series? As I already said I’m not a fan of overclocking and need a board which can support all the components I choose. 2. Any alternate choice for the ram I choose? 3. I choose RTX 2060 for Graphic, will it work with the setup? Any chances of CPU/GPU bottleneck? I have been a member of team red, my last card was Radeon 6750. I know it’s a very very basic card. I always wanted to check out the Nvidia card but never got a chance to upgrade due to budget issues. So what do you say with my current choice of graphic card make and model? Do you have any other suggestions? 4. Should I use stock cooler or used CM Hyper 212 EVO. If CM, can you also let me know a good thermal paste ? 5. I’m planning to use my 600WPSU from the old rig. The wattage should be sufficient for the new build but want to know what you think. Same question for the used SSD. Although I wanted to go for 250 GB Kingston A1000 nVMe.M2 6. The MB 500 cabinet, do you think will be good for this rig? Or do you have any other recommendation that I can get my hands on. 7. Good monitor, not necessarily 144z hz. 8. What do you think of the overall build I choose?
