  1. Have an Asus X99-AII MOBO and have been running 32gb (8x4) of Corsair Vengeance memory no problem for months now. A couple of weeks ago at random I noticed that my total memory was only 24gb, and that slot #2 showed empty. I also noticed that at around the same time my computer would give a false starts every time I turned it on the in morning. Lights would turn on and fans spin when power button pressed, but then it would turn back off for a sec, then restore power a sec later and boot normal. (btw, this went away when I removed a 4th stick and ran only 3 sticks) Long story short, I moved the ram all around trying different different slots, sticks, and quantities - result: all sticks seem to work and all slots work. The only problem is that I cannot get all four slots/sticks to work at the same time, only 3 max. I even bought brand new ram too (DDR4 HyperX Predator...spent small fortune for those. they look pretty sweet tho )...and same issue. updated bios and still nothing. I feel like it might be a setting somewhere, but can't seem to crack this. Also - was trying to find something in bios that would limit my max capacity, but every setting pretty much set to auto at this point. any thoughts/help would be great! ok yes, I do have 24gb usable memory right now which is more then enough, but still very frustrating to have an extra 8gb stick sitting in my computer that I can't touch!!! thx guys
  2. Winning the Razor Blade 14 would make me so happy - my wife would finally be able to kiss me again! After my MACH 3 broke down, I haven't been able to shave in months! Its been a pretty hairy situation, however having the New Razor Blade would definitely help smooth out my life again!
  3. I will NEVER own/build a computer without an SSD installed in it! They draw less power than mechanical HDs, they are faster, they are not effected by vibrations (great for laptops), very reliable and much more affordable these days...no brainer!
  4. I was personally eyeballing the Autore keyboard. I have had a mechanical keyboard on my shopping list now for at least two years and have been putting it off until my cheap E-Machines keyboard dies (seems like the space bar is always the first to go). Being a game enthusiast on the weekends, as well as using my personally built PC as my daily driver for many hours a day typing out emails, working on spreadsheets, etc. Feenix’s Auore keyboard looks very simple and elegant. I like their choice in font selection for the key caps. Never having had any experience with Feenix products, they appear to be very well made with attention to detail. Another quick comment on the Dimora mouse pad. Having gone through several gaming mice in the past, I’ve always assumed that a quality mouse pad was more a bling item for your desktop. However, when well made a good mouse pad can not only provide comfort and precision tracking, but it also allows your expensive gaming mouse the opportunity to perform at its full potential. Thanks again Feenix and Linus media group for a chance at this give away!
  5. Thanks guys. There is about 40 feet of non-shielded CAT-6 cable between extenders (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003E7YRWS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00), and a DA splitting signal between projector and TV (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088HP93A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00). and then another 30ft hdmi. I am using decent cables for this... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K26TU9E?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FX6ST8G?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00 Thanks for the info on the GPU. I am trying to fine tune my system by replacing or upgrading anything that would degrade signal and performance. Any thoughts on a 5.1 sound card?
  6. Hello all, I recently built a custom pc for my newly designed and self-installed home theater system. Below are the PC specs if this will help to answer the question I have... Motherboard: MSI Micro ATX LGA 1150 B85M GAMING CPU: Intel Core i3-4370 3.8 GHz Desktop Haswell Processor Ram: Crucial Ballistix Elite 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL8 Hard drives: A Crucial 256GB SSD and a WD 7200 drive for storage Graphics Card: I am currently running a cheapy MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 2048MB GDDR5. I have video output running hdmi over cat-5e and then splitting off to a projector and LED display. It seems to be comfortably pushing 1080P 60hz to all my displays, however at times the signal may lag a little (this could also be my extenders or DA I understand). This system is primarily used for watching dvds/bluerays, netflix and youtube off my browser, and light gaming. Spending no more than around $350, what do you guys recommend in terms of a good graphics card for my uses within this system? Are there particular specs to look for in a GPU when pushing video at distances and to multiple displays? Side question...I am currently utilizing the 5.1 onboard surround sound through my MB and it seems to be performing OK. Would you guys also recommend a good sound card that could take my system up a notch? Thanks in advanced for any thoughts and support!!!
  7. Brand new Corair CX600...overkill for this stock system i know, but it's what I had handy.
  8. Helping out a friend with an older pc. -HP Nettle 3 motherboard with 5.28 bios -AMD Phenom 2.3 quad 9600 -8gb ddr2 ram -Running win7 64bit You can power off/on the pc all day when it's been running or is "warm", but whenever you leave the computer off for an extended period of time, overnight lets say, you have to repeatedly power on the computer about 6 times before it will stay on. When first hitting the power button after being off all night the computer will almost finish posting (no beeps) and then it automatically powers off. He has been putting the computer to sleep to temp remedy this issue. We pulled all ram out except one stick to check. Same results.
