  1. Thanks so much mate that helps a bunch. My motherboard is a b450 rog strix one, and in the UK where i live theres a second hand shop called cex that wont test compatibility, rather if it works. Although by the time i get rid of it, it probably wont be worth much anyway. Ill probably go for the 5800x when it releases eventually. Thanks so much for all your help
  2. Also just so you’re aware I get like 20 FPS average in demanding VR games when anything remotely intensive happens on screen, and sometimes I get massive random framedrops for no reason
  3. Most games in general do this, especially cpu heavy ones like gta and red dead redemption 2, get under 60 FPS sometimes on a card that’s capable of 100+ FPS
  4. I have had issues with frame rate (especially in VR) with my system and ive found that my CPU is sometimes even at 80% usage while my GPU is rather low (50-70%). I have a ryzen 5 2600x and a RTX 2070 super, i bought this combo as i game at 1440p and people online have said that there isnt too much of a bottleneck with this combo. Should i spend some extra cash on one of the new 5000 series ryzen processors or is there something wrong with my settings? Cheers BTW, the Oculus software takes up like 20% whenever i use it, dont know if this is normal or not haha.
  5. you make a fair point of buying a new one, to be fair its 3 years old. I just wanted to get it working on the software side so i can get insurance to fix it, then i can trade it in to buy a new phone, just a bit annoying that everything on google hasnt worked
  6. idk if this section is for discussing about phone problems too but ive ran into a brick wall and need help. My iphone X, which is quite damaged (Battery like a pillow and the screen has been pushed out the frame because of it), died one day and when i try to boot it back up, it just gets stuck on a bootloop. I can get on the restore screen no problem, but no PC or Mac in my house detects it as connected in order to restore it. I tried hard restarting and charging it and everything and still the bootloop happens. It also gets extremely hot if i leave it to boot too long to the point where it just shuts itself off. All i want to do it wipe it, anyone have any ideas? Cheers
  7. I’m considering about getting a 1440p monitor from a horrible 1080p monitor. My reasoning is I may consider upgrading to an RTX 2070 super in the future and I know it is total overkill for 1080p and I’ve always wanted to play at higher resolutions. Now my current card is a GTX 1070 and I’ve seen it could run 1440p 60+fps in the past, and I’m wondering if it still can now. I know I can always just reduce resolution but it clearly would look like ass on a 27” monitor. Thanks
  8. And then I tried plugging the rgb connector from my ml120 into my pump rgb connector and that didn’t light up either, so does that mean my fan is faulty too?
  9. So I tried plugging in my AIO liquid cooler rgb fan into my rgb hub and the rgb did not light up, so does that mean there is an issue with the rgb hub?
  10. Also I don’t think it is being detected on Corsair link after all, so I have no idea now
  11. I mean I don’t have it plugged in to a monitor so I will now and get back to you
  12. I have tried connecting the rgb connector from the fan to many other ports, however it has not worked
  13. So I recently got a Corsair ml120 fan and it works great cooling wise. However the rgb is not working when it is connected to my rgb hub. Now when I connect it to the motherboard it works fine, but it is not secure so I needed an rgb hub. After connecting it to my commander pro with that 3 pin to 3 pin rgb connector, and plugging the sata power connector in, I plugged in the rgb connector from my fan, but the rgb did not turn on. Any help as to what the problem is would be appreciated thanks
  14. Ok so I disabled precision boost overdrive which I’m guessing is xfr. It’s not made a difference to be perfectly honest but I’ve analysed that a mild overclock makes the cpu voltage not fluctuate rapidly and keeps it relatively fixed, now it’s still quite high temperatures but it fixes the voltage fluctuation issue I guess
  15. Now should I leave xfr on? Is it more beneficial than stock speeds even though my cpu is running quite hot? I am getting a much better cooler in the future because I do want to get into the overclocking so should I just wait and get the new cooler and not do anything?
  16. So I apologise in advance as I’m still quite new with overclocking and voltages etc. I upgraded my motherboard not too long ago from an ASUS prime A320-M to a ASUS prime b450 plus and I’ve noticed my cpu is running very hot compared to my old motherboard, about 45-50 degrees idle or even higher compared to the normal stock cooler temps of my old motherboard. When gaming, it can shoot up to about 80 degrees Celsius. However, I’ve noticed it’s been running a bit faster than my old motherboard, 3.6ghz (base speed for a ryzen 5 2600x, that’s what my cpu is btw) whereas now it fluctuates, about 2.2ghz at idle and when gaming it shoots up to 4ghz. Now I don’t know if my motherboard had overclocking features or what but I’ve been so baffled as to why it does this. Also my voltage is quite high considering I’ve not touched overclocking in my life and stuck with stock speeds, and yet my voltage is 1.4 volts on average and I have no idea how to fix it. Any help at all would be highly appreciated Thanks
  17. Ok so I underclocked my ram to 2800mhz and it’s stable now so thanks for the help
  18. Oh right, I’m testing lower frequencies now to find out and I’ll get back to you if anything happens
  19. Everything is detected so I doubt it’s dead
  20. I recently upgraded my RAM massively from some shitty 8gb 2400mhz to 32gb 3200mhz, and I went to use the docp setting and booted. Everything booted as normal and I went to play some games with my friends. Then when I was in game for about 30 seconds my PC blue screens. Now idk if that’s because my cpu voltage is unusually high for stock speeds or what but I don’t know how to change my cpu voltage properly as I’m still quite new to what is good voltage and what isn’t and what setting to change it on. Any help would be appreciated Thanks
