  1. dont neeccisarily need on ein that case but if you plan to upgrade to more power hungry headphones in the future it wont be a bad call.
  2. on the upper treble they get slightly darker. its not really that they lose detail more sound smoother/ less forward in the upper frequencies. like it's slightly eq'd just removing some of the edge. Lots of treble doesn't necceseraly mean detail. dont worry I just replaced the pads with the same pads they ship with I kinda fucked up the original pads while I was putting them back on after cleaning.
  3. Had one a couple of replies ago I also expand on how they relate sound wise to the msr7. You could also wo with the cheaper m40x though that headphone is a bit of a downgrade and is more forgiving that both Headphones
  4. Depends on if that costs just as much as a new pair and how much you save doing that. Also consider shipping and what you are potentially sacrificing getting new pads and a used pair like warranties return policies and how much youvalue that. Also consider pads change how headphones sound
  5. Also just to give you more iem options what kind of music do you listen to?
  6. You will get a better experience if you replace the cable to a 2.5mm balanced cable as the balanced amp on the unit sounds better on it than the unbalanced output but it's a more fragile connector. Whether or not you hear the difference though is up to your ears but the balanced outputs also has more power. So a balanced cable would not be bad if you take advantage of it.
  7. It's ear murder with new pads they tend to get tamed as the pads flatten from my findings from replacing them. Also good amp pairings help a lot and is the main reasonwhy you see me constantly pushing the monoprice liquid spark to people who want to pick up a 990 as the amp just does a decent job to smooth out that treble.
  8. Give it time. Most of the time if you just use the in game sound engine without the Scout mode or added virtual surround sou d you will have a better time as added software can screw with directional audio at times especially if your not used to it.
  9. For $200 no amp the headphone I most reccomend is the HD 58x off massdrop or the beyerdynamic tygr
  10. Oh shit I didn't know that. Well if OP needs a pretty compenetnt alternative. It has a detailed more v shaped sound than the msr7 but is pretty good for the price. Look into the one more triple driver over ear. Has slightly more soundstage more bass impact but also just as unforgiving as the msr7
  11. The btr3k is more powerful has more features , newer , and overall sounds better. The btr3 is older and cheaper either one will work honestly. If you wanna delve more into the audiophile space get into iems with balanced cables and such the btr3k is the better option.
  12. I understand that I wasn't reccomding the btr5 for you exactly I was just expressing my experience with fiio's btr series. And from my experience and reviews the btr3k is a great Bluetooth adapter as it's just a slightly cheaper version of the btr5 you lose out on sound quality a bit but that what you get for spending less.
  13. I use a btr5 regularly and have used the btr series since their inception. They are great and were some of the first the market and have proven their reliability. Their are other alternatives from companies like thanking and radsone you could look at but fiio is one of the biggest chi fi companies that exist. The kzs Zsn pro is just ok but great if free.
  14. Audiophile Headphones don't often get bootlegged so I wouldn't worry about it. Beats, skull candies, and airpods do due to popularit. If you worried about legitimacy spend extra on a new pair from Amazon or another reputable seller
  15. they bring oxygen OS which is near stock android but come with usually good features that sock android usually doesnt have. at least that was their appeal a few years ago. they also had killer hardware that was above the competitions in the one plus 6t days they had the fastest phone in the market and they were also pretty good at pusing the market forward while being unique. these days its hard to say what they offer aside from the competition as they are quicly losing their identity as a cheap flagship killer brand. their cameras leave a lot to be desired. and to me aside from the pop up camera of the onlus 7 pro they havent really done anything unique or compelling. the only thing I would consider them for now is if they brought underscreen camera tech while also improving how good their cameras are to be at least on par with the major brands.
