mention the 2015 recall that macs had, the batteries would explode when charging (in some cases)

https://www.amazon.com/PNY-GeForce-Gaming-Overclocked-Graphics/dp/B07QFSR2YH
this is what i use for my optiplex, perfect for BTX boards since its single slot, and its short af so it wont hit any oversized motherboard caps since business pc boards dont think about that stuff.
edit: i didnt see the part where you wanted to connect it just for.. power? are you talking about cross wiring the pc with 2 gpus?

just that pc guy got a reaction from BuckGup in 2080Ti "prototype" laptop card?
thats true, i mean if its legit it could be a modified bios to work with the unheard of card [in the laptops perspective] that it has to use. its a interesting machine but not worth 1kusd, especially when it looks like it was thrown around the room

just that pc guy got a reaction from ObsidianAura in laptop with best airflow?
from what im kind of observing, if the laptop isnt dedicated to gaming and performence, it seems like manufactures rely too much on the thermal throttle feature to keep the laptop cpu from melting. it really would be nice if more manufactures took consideration for cooling because while it isnt damaging the laptop to have it run hot, its still taking out alot of performance from the laptop

just that pc guy got a reaction from Arrogath in Does 16 ram enough for gaming and little basic editing
no problem, just make sure whatever ram you get, you want it to fill all the slots, single channel is bad, dual channel is ok, quad channel is the guud stuff

You asked the wrong question, then.
High End Desk Tops (HEDT or Intel) or Threadripper (for AMD) are the only (I want to say 99.9% as there may be an obscure something or another I don't know about) consumer level platforms with quad channel.

just that pc guy got a reaction from s0rter in No boot with GPU installed. Possible Motherboard issue maybe?
im thinking it could be a psu problem, did you happen to get your psu from microcenter? their brand is powerspec, its known for not being reliable when being pushed to its limits, that could be the problem if it is the case.

windows 7 eh? old laptop, could be the actuall wifi chip on its last legs, i had a problem like that with my old hp pavilion, woke it up from sleep, limited connection, i fixed this problem by digging around my other laptops i use for parts and replaced the chip, worked fine after that

just that pc guy reacted to mariushm in mystery hardware in autotrader merc trunk??
It's not just an audio chip.
The box also includes a power supply, which converts the 10v..15v from the car's battery to something like 50v...100v which is needed to drive big speakers.
A box like the one on the right is for 2 x 500-1-00w of actual audio power, maybe even more.
12v is just too low to drive a 100-250w speaker or woofer for example, nevermind two for a stereo system... you need to boost the voltage to at least 30-50v
Unlike computer power supplies that take a high voltage and step it down to 12v, or powered speakers that may take high voltage down to 24-48v with very high efficiency - around 92-95% - these amplifiers have to take a low voltage (10-15v) and boost it up to a higher voltage, which is a more difficult and in general with lower efficiency, let's say around 85-90%
So there's more heat produced, which is why you need the aluminum case with those fins or striations, to dissipate the heat if used for long periods of time.
You can see from around 6 minutes in the video below how those amplifiers are built :
You have almost half of the insides used by the power supply and then you basically have two almost identical parts, the amplifiers for each audio channel
If you have some powered speakers on your PC, they're most likely in the 30-50 audio watts range and you have high voltage from mains, so the power supplies are way more simpler and efficient, and below 100-200w or audio power there are indeed audio chips that are fully integrated and can produce that much power.
But above that, you have to use multiple transistors or mosfets in parallel as you can see in the video above (you see the parts screwed down on the edges of the circuit board, directly on the heatsink of the case, to dissipate heat.
