You dont have to smear it out a cpu is meant to pressure fit it and spread it out.

A gpu or exposed die part without a heatspreader does need this.

Just for being extra sure I always add a dot in the middle just in case I missed something whilst spreading or a part was too thin.

Btw too much thermalpastr isnt an issue it will just make a mess

Daaaaammmmnnn iiitt alrriigghhtt i take it off lol thanks btw !

Are you saying he originally bought that PC with the motherboard-processor-cooler already installed? if he got the original boxes, look into them.

Also, did you check if the backplate for the "old" cooler can be used with the new one?

Yes ! Its the nzxt foundation PC and it came installed with its own cooler and backplate. We tried everything to make the backplate it came with to work but no luck. We checked everywhere for that stock AM4 backplate.

Yea we are just thinking of getting a stock am4 backplate DGZZI AM4 Backplane Back Durable CPU Heatsink Bracket Motherboard CPU Fan Cooling Mounting Sheet Plate for AM4 AMD Socket https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084GQFFBY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_780YPKX4SW1V3ZYK60P4

Have you check the box the Motherboard came in? AFAIK all AM4 motherboards come with the same backplate, the default one, maybe your friend just put it away when he installed that cooler.

The cooler came preinstalled with the backplate in the pic and we tried looking every where for the stock am4 backplate so we are thinking of buying this DGZZI AM4 Backplane Back Durable CPU Heatsink Bracket Motherboard CPU Fan Cooling Mounting Sheet Plate for AM4 AMD Socket https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084GQFFBY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_780YPKX4SW1V3ZYK60P4

  5. Helping a friend upgrade his Pc but we are stuck on installing the AIO because the old cooler came in with a different backplate. And all the AMD installations we watch have an AM4 backplate. It is the foundation PC from nzxt https://nzxt.com/product/foundation-pc-h510-edition

The back plate the cooler it came with just had long screws that held it all together.
Its an EVGA CLC 240 AIO that we are trying to install.

Chances are this is an indicator that the link is negotiating down to 100mbps instead of 1gbit.

What happens if you connect the PC to another port on the router? Do other devices work fine on the same router port?

Did you verify that the router collected your public IP from the modem after you disabled it's router?

Have you tried booting another OS on this computer and seeing if the speed improves? Windows sometimes pulls this number...

yes i tried different ports on the asus router and i get the same problem

and idk about the public IP but ill look into that rn

and No i haven't tried any other OS

  7. So we were using a wifi router/modem for a while a 2 in 1 device but the wifi range was horrible. So we bought an asus wifi router and set the old device into modem only mode. All my devices are running ethernet cords but for some reason my PC internet speed slows down from 8-15 when i plug it into the new asus router, And when i plug it back in to the modem i get my usual speed from 250-400 mbps. This problem only occurs with my pc becasue my roku, ps5, and smart t.v. are all using ethernet cords plugged into the new asus router with no problems. Any help guys ?

Also idk if this helps but on the back of the motherboard where the ethernet port is there is a green light when it is plugged into the modem and then that light switches to orange when plugged into the asus router.

ied strip it down to nothing. i don't think you need ram in it or not thow. take out gpu take out hhd/ss/m.2 try 1 stick of ram. after all that maybe reseat the cpu.

Tried everything you said and still no luck so ima just return the MB and PSU (found it cheaper) just in case it is PSU or MB

i appreciated the help guys ty!

Welp, as others suggested, you can either try another power supply, or kick that motherboard to the curb and call it a day. 👍👍.....Its odd to me, because I have the same motherboard as yours, paid good money for it too. 😒

Tried a different power supply and same thing happened motherboard lights up and then i hit power switch and everything dies out again.

so first to confirm do you have power from the wall that the pc us plugged in too?

do you have a second pc to diagnose to see if the monitor, gpu and maybe ram work?  if not try the jumping the psu like i linked above. try plugin the monitor in to the mb instead of the gpu if posable.

i got some waffles that will have to do maybe milk and cereal nexed...

I was able to get a second power supply will test this out now

Okay rgb is not the problem and no i dont have other parts i can test with

Motherboard lights up and as soon as i hit the power switch eveything goes out

but its not booting so unplug it. booting the pc is more importaned then the rgb imo... unless he had too much argb witch we dont no what his pc is and what in there 99.9 people dont build a pc like me😀

i edited my PC build in the Original post. Meanwhile i am unplugging all rgb stuff from my PC

That's ok. Even for experienced people from far away, online diag is rather difficult.

Try to help best I can.

Yes some boards won't post without both 8 pin eps connectors. So definitely worth a shot.

Most boards only need one. I'd have to research exactly which boards, but it may be easier and quicker for you just to try it and see if it helps your situation.

You can hit that clear cmos any time you want. If the board is powered on, when you press that button, the board will shut off and when you let go, the lights should come back on without posting. You can then hit the power button and go from there.

I hit cmos and everything went dark again, i did install alot of corsair rgb  fans/strips in the case about 2 days ago and everything was working fine prior to that, could it be that the RGB is using that much power that i should plug in the 2nd 8 pin cpu power or switch out the cable ?

  14. 6 minutes ago, ShrimpBrime said:

First, try and clear the cmos.

Then if still having issues, try a different PSU from another rig or something.

If it continues to fail, it's likely the motherboard. Then RMA it.

so i have the button that says "clear cmos" on the back of the PC but i have no lights on the motherboard, should i try to unplug the power cord or the hit the switch to get some lights to show up on the motherboard? then hit CMOS?

Also i have the x570 aorus Master which has two 8+8 CPU pins , i only plugged in one could that be the problem ?

sorry bro i am kinda a noob at this.

  15. So i left my pc on and then when i came back from getting groceries it went into sleep mode. Then i went to turn it on but all of a sudden it wont. I thought that was weird so i went to the back of the power supply and hit the switch to "off" and unplugged the power cord from the power supply shortly after. Then i plugged everything back and switched the power from the power supply "ON" and the mother board lit up, so i got happy and went to hit the power switch from the top of my NZXT case but as soon as i hit it everything goes dark again. Any help guys really freaking out here.

A matter of personal choice.  My general attitude is get the cheapest card of a given type.  OC does not need to be factory.  It can be easily done at home with a slider.  Paying for it is silly and generally not worth the money.  That’s me though.  YMMV

yea i think the OC fee is dumb when i can do it at home. But my concern is which one out of the 3 brands would be good to get you know ? But if its all the same then i guess ill go with the cheaper option.

If ur considering the GL850, consider the VG27AQ instead, its imo a better display.

    https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gl850-b

The problem with the GL850 is its contrast, its rather crap even for an IPS. I think going from a TV, assuming ur TV is VA, ull miss the contrast, even on the VG27AQ which has admirable contrast for a IPS display, but it should be better than the TN u have.

The only way ull get a TV like experience in a monitor is if u go VA.

    For example:

thanks bro i ended up buying the 83A since i am mainly going from TN to IPS. I cant wait till it arrives tomorrow !
