1151 and TR4 are mechanically identical? I have some doubts

Epimetheus reacted to Mateyyy in Need help on improving future PC build
It looks solid. The only thing I'd change is the motherboard to an ASUS TUF X570-Plus, as MSI's X570 boards, at least the lower-end ones, are known for having very bad VRM cooling. Also consider adding in a HDD for mass storage, unless you're sure that 2TB is enough for you.

Epimetheus reacted to kelvinhall05 in looking to upgrade mobo
Upgrade your mobo with your CPU. By the time you have money for the CPU there might be better stuff to buy.
If you really want to upgrade something right now get a new CPU, but your current motherboard is fine.

Epimetheus reacted to LukeSavenije in from which oem should i get my x570 motherboard
except if you start looking at prices on some...
for example: a crosshair formula sucks compared to a aorus xtreme

Epimetheus got a reaction from genexis_x in from which oem should i get my x570 motherboard
you can't compare oems generally. In this case though all asus x570 motherboards are really good while all low-mid range msi x570 boards are terrible

Epimetheus got a reaction from Stormseeker9 in Should i wait for ryzen 4th gen CPU
2020 will be the last year on am4. The generation which will probably not support am4 will be in 2021, so i'd say get it now

2200G producing 70 FPS whilst gaming? lol

Epimetheus got a reaction from NumLock21 in Thinking of getting a new pc build but could use a bit of help to decide if it's worth it or not.
There's no such thing as 2gb of ddr4 dimm sticks though

Epimetheus got a reaction from Aristotle2019 in All right I had enough. I am unsubscribing from linustechtips.
Aside from the clickbaity titles, that they change after like an hour, i think that with things they're good at, their videos are really interesting. Especially the quirky projects, you don't see them really often

Epimetheus reacted to minibois in i5 9400f or i5 9400?
Yes. But that would be the case with the 9400 (non-f) too, since when you plug in a dedicated GPU, your integrated GPU will turn off (unless you specifically choose to turn it on).
Your GPU will already have a very long lifespan, having it not display your desktop and such is not going to save you anything of its life.
Plus it would need to turn itself on once you do any sort of video stuff anyways (like gaming or even watching a YouTube video).
In my humble opinion, the Ryzen 3600 or even 2600 is a better CPU than the 9400(f) anyways, so my vote is on that. Doesn't have an integrated GPU either.
Otherwise my vote is on the 9400f, if you truly need Intel (unless you're video editing in Adobe Premiere - in that case the 9400(non-f) does kind of make sense).

Phase 2 wasn't that difficult for me. The secret ingredient is divine confetti.
Also try to dodge his hits instead of parrying them, he's too much of an heavy hitter

Epimetheus got a reaction from glenalz81 in Will my gtx 1080 bottleneck a ryzen 7 3700x
If the problem was system specs the game would simply run slow, also the game can run on ddr3, the speed does not matter. You should make a separate thread in my opinion

Epimetheus got a reaction from crainingaming in Will my gtx 1080 bottleneck a ryzen 7 3700x
The 3700x can easily keep up with much faster graphics cards than the 1080

AM3+ is a dead platform, you will need to upgrade your motherboard if you want to get decent performance increase.

The maximum i'd spent for an i7 7700 is 100 usd, for 350 it's plain stupid

Epimetheus reacted to Princess Luna in Upgrade i5 7600 to i7 7700? Is it worth it ??
350 euros to get HT on a dated CPU? LOL are you insane?
Ditch everything and get a Ryzen 5 3600 + B450 if you really need the upgrade.
