2990WX 4100MHz casually pulling in the region of 700W in Cinebench: https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/amd_ryzen_threadripper_2990wx_review,31.html

Considering that CB doesn't touch the GPU unless the GPU test is ran...yikes.

Although 1.4V seems a tad high for 4100MHz. Could definitely be done lower.

Wow, pretty much exactly what I expected.  What a huge surprise /ssssssssssss

Glad to see someone finally tried it lol.  Can't wait to see what everyone who was freaking about the 250 W says to this.

Even at stock it pulls 350W+ during a Cinebench run.

You'll have to explain to them that the 250W figure is heat and not power.

Some sources/people on the internet figure out the power consumption by performing this calculation:

    • TDP * 1.5 = power consumption in Watts.

That puts the 2990WX at around 375W.

Which is near enough what the blue line peaks at for the Cinebench result.

    It's probably a bit rough.

Except, 100% of the power consumed becomes heat, so it's both heat and power, is it not?  The reason the TDP doesn't match real tests is it's not much better than a number they just randomly pulled out of their ass, and will vary greatly with workload, voltage, etc.
