It may be wise to up the graphics card, but it should be fine for the most part. May just have to lower some settings here and there to get that 144 fps.
I have a 1080 doing 1440p 144hz and its pretty good without having to change much. So you can kinda use that as a benchmark.
Although i think you can find some cheaper builds with better parts so i would look around on pcp
