Can't you people read or something? You don't need to modify the driver, just download 417.22 from Nvidia's website then open Registry and search for AdapterType or go to this destination and try looking for AdapterType in one of the folders (000, 001, 002..etc)
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\
now just double click on AdapterType and change it to 4 and hit ok or simply delete AdapterType as a whole. Then below it, you will find EnableMsHybrid double click on it and change it to 1 instead of 0, hit ok, reboot the pc and then open Nvidia control panel and make the P106  the default GPU and you are set to go.

Teaser: modded driver with VALID signature Maybe this will make the anti-cheats happy.

It can be installed without testsigning mode.

Some things still don't work, need more tests...

Petitions don't accomplish shit let alone when there are few people behind them. Our best bet is Linus making a video about it calling out Nvidia on this.

If anyone wants to try Red Dead Redemption 2 place this file in (C:\Users\(your user name)\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings
and the game will lunch. basically the game defaults to Vulkan API and the game will show you an error telling to update, this file has setting with DX12 as the API after lunching the game you can change the settings to what you like.
I manged to boot to the game but it crashes after a while, not sure it's only on my PC or on all the P106's. If some one has Red Dead 2 and want to test, please let us know if it works or not for you.

this error is showed when you already have a new driver installare. And because of nvidia's new drivers are "DHC" and the older ones are "Standard" version it gives you that error, now you can ddu the installed driver, and with your internet connection switched off install the older driver and not update. and if you need to update like for warzone and roll back to the previous one you need to download the standard version specifically which you can find on this page https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us otherwise if you download the new driver it will install and switch to "DHC" and you will not be able to roll back.

I'm gonna bump this old thread.

A while back I built a Ryzen 3 2200G build using this card, and used it for a handful of games like Apex, PUBG, and R6S, but in the end I decided it was too much of a headache and switched to an RX580. I strongly believed that it was being held back by the 8x lanes afforded by the Ryzen processor. Since then, my P106 has been collecting dust.

Well, I've moved recently and left my old PC behind and I decided to bring my P106 with me. I bought an old Dell Optiplex 9020 and through a real feat of engineering, managed to get the P106 working with it. It's not pretty, but it works.

Anyway, I re-ran my Heaven benchmark and it does indeed seem to improve on the scores I attained on the Ryzen build. So, keep that in mind, y'all.

P104 will perform worst than a gtx 760 because it is restricted to run at pcie 1x4, for now, there is no reason to get it over p106 which restricted to pcie 1x8 (but that's okay for this  gpu) and no one knows whether it's a bios restriction or a physical restriction.
If you want to use it for games you will need a gen 4 or higher cpu otherwise you will be limited to play only OpenGL and Vulkan games. another solution is to use Linux , Pop Os (Nvidia version) works out of the box.

I have been trying to find a solution so that the Desktop is treated as a laptop.
1- Instead of deleting Adaptertype in the registry I changed its value to 4 and YOU MUST change Mshybrid to 1 instead of 0.
2- (I don't think it's needed but I'll mention it just in case) Then I went to this registry address:
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile\Tasks\Games
and modified the values to be as such (see picture 1)

I removed the game's profiles from the Windows GPU setting and launched them and they indeed utilized the GP106 GPU. And it appears that even Directx9 is working as you can see in the last picture.

I have an I5 4670K and MSI Z87 gaming motherboard and running Windows 10 Pro version 1809 build  17763.437.

UPDATE: You don't need all these steps just the first one, just change Adaptertype to 4 (or delete Adaptertype )  and YOU MUST change Mshybrid to 1 instead of 0.

So quick update, the Bios chip on the Gigabyte P106 is a W25Q40EW which requires 1.8V logic to program instead of 3.3V so I'm currently waiting on a 1.8V adapter for my programmer from China, I had it express shipped so hopefully it arrives in 7-14 days as advertised.

Edit here - So i took a risk of eraceing the eeprom which worked fine, i know it cannot be programmed as the logic is 1.8V and it wont be able to program all the pages with the 3.3v logic but it was able to wipe them.

Using NV flash after wiping it, it skips all checks because the eeprom is erased and it knows it. The only check it does do is the PCI hardware id which is physical. So it wont allow me to flash anythign that doesnt match vendor id 1C07. If we can figure out what resistors and values to change on the card for it to appear as a 1C06 which is the 1060 then all users would need to do is wipe/corrupt the  the eeprom and then it would be able to flash the 1C06 firmware.

    We will see i suppose
Well I plan on trying it. flashing the Gigabyte Windforce 6GB bios on my P106 its the exact same PCB and even the bioses look similar in a binary compare. I'll let you guys know how it fairs.

    You are welcome.
For me, I use it  for gaming and some photoshopping (mainly digital painting).
As for nvenc I have no idea. But I don't think it'"s because of the driver rather hardware, maybe nvenc chips are missing from such cards.

"I also think DX12 doesn't work, benchmark says DX 11."
But you said DX11 works if DX11 works 12 should work too. try a game that supports DX12 (Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Metro Exodus  or something else) You can check which api the game is using by installing Afterburner and rivatuner (which is included with Afterburner) check youtube to see how to configure both if you don't know how to.
Also, what cpu do you have?  You are running Windows 10 right?

Hi, thanks for your work. I have tried it on a Gen1 Intel CPU platform, the Nvidia control panel is work, but DirectX games still go to iGPU instead of P106. Vulkan and Opengl game can work (after deleteing the Intel Opengl ICD dll files)

A cold room it's like winter here in Algeria. Also, the benchmark wasn't running for a long time before I took the screenshot. In long gaming sessions, I get around 49c or something these days.

So I will probably regret this but.. the most annoying part of this has been to keep the list updated with games and new version of games as they automated themselves.. So I created a tool to do this automatically. This will work on Windows 10 only. See my GitHub link below to download, download the whole repo AND READ THE README FILE! YOU NEED TO MODIFY WHICH DIRECTORY YOU WANT TO MONITOR!

Feel free to modify the source code and/or compile the code yourself! It's written in autoit, which is a super easy scripting language!

I'm the worlds worst programmer and I also have a real job so updates will be rare... But.. For Windows 10 only: Automation tool for setting up performance settings! 1) Download from GitHub! 2) Edit "DirectoryToWatch" and modify that value to hwatever directory you want to monitor for changes and/or to automate 2b) This will recursively add all exe's in that folder to the Windows settings so be careful not to load the whole C drive.. ! 2c) Currently ONLY ONE DIRECTORY CAN BE ADDED AT A TIME! 3) Close all open windows that don't need ot be open 4) Run "TheFixer", don't touch anything and let it do it's thing. If the program doesn't seem to work or you get errors about image not found, use a screenshot to update the files in the "images" folder! And/Or Set resolution to 1920x1080 Before Loading :( DOWNLOAD:
