As always, you'll get the cards and then you'll get different cooling solutions which can make the performance drop a grade or two. Still, '1.9' performance/Watt means nearly twice the performance with the same cooling.

Long term streaming could be better anyway. 1. It's much easier to move server farm than all of homes that it's supporting, therefore it can have much better efficiency in terms of power delivery. 2. The high cost of AC makes it popular to undervolt cards and get more perf/watt than home usage. 3. I believe cooling and data transmission are the two factors making the difference, servers already being more efficient than home PCs, but the Internet infrastructure should get updated to very efficient fibre etc. game streaming or no game streaming, what's more if the user has AC at home, it'll probably suck more additional juice cooling the heat from their PC than the server farm But it's a wholly different experience, think of arm-based stream receivers that use next to no energy until the stream is started, no full OS running in a background. The farms would be purpose built for this and the biggest one imo - you need less HW than you currently have because it's never 100% of users who play at one time(and they'd probably just lower the quality in rush hours). I will still prefer to own my machine, but I can see how streaming can improve and in many ways beat local gaming.

Looking from perspective of two OSes that don't allow other app shops etc. when one does it because it maximises their income and the other does it to guarantee system's security, the first one sounds like a monopolistic practice and the other sounds acceptable. That's why Apple will always argue they're doing it to protect their users.

This is weird because I want users to be free to do whatever they want, but I also believe in systems made in a way that does protect users from themselves. The problem is Apple does it for the money. I think a compromise where OS is *safe*, but a user can make it more open by agreeing to certain warning messages would be alright, but what do I know.... There could be a phone(most likely based on Android) made with security in mind, using whitelist of apps and not allowing itself to be tampered with. It's a legitimate business and if someone bought such device and complained they can't play Fortnite, I'd laugh them off. Apple could argue they're the same, but I don't think that's the case.

yup, I'm paying 49PLN for 2 numbers, unlimited calls and messages and 50*GB between them, the same isp would offer 100*GB for 29 PLN and it's not even the cheapest one. 1 PLN = 0.27 USD and they are making money * the offers are 20GB initially, 40 after 6 months, 50 after a year and 60 after 2 years, in case of 29pln offer it's 40/80/100/120 with same timeline, but I also have unlimited 4G at home for under 70 PLN, I managed up to 0.5TB transfer in a month using that.

I'm interested in how it looks, could you post photos of your plug and where the optional wire comes in? In my case most high power devices have ground and the wiring always has ground in the kitchen and the bathroom, the rest of the house too if it's less than 20 years old. I had no fridge fail on me, but if something goes wrong, you can have all of the metal doors shorted and that'd be very dangerous. It's hard to believe a house wouldn't have ground at all, are you sure about that?

Oh, I didn't think motherboards would be unavailable, just more expensive. Even the numbers you provided over 10 years it comes to $10-$15 on psu and $20-$40 on the motherboard(multiplied 4 times) side. I fully understand that economies of scale play a huge part and if suddenly everything becomes 12V0, automatically that option is the cheapest(as long as supply keeps up with demand and the ATX doesn't get oversupplied which would make prices take a dive), but I guess we'll see.

My PSU has lived through 4 motherboards, it is still going strong after over 10 years of usage. For me having those converters on MOBO would mean significantly higher cost just because I plan for my PSU to outlive them. I am planning on getting a new one, but I want it to live for 10+ years too and with motherboard it's highly unlikely.

@MageTank Would you say only people who overclock and have taken down the limits would be at risk? Or are the 'pre-overclocked' settings on most Intel boards dangerous enough?

This was wonderfully reasonable, no RGB, the case with mesh instead of glass front, going with soundbar because setting up speakers would be its own project... I have to say there's a bit too much stuff imo, I'd suggest some furniture to keep some of those things in.

I think they mentioned on WAN show that Linus did make some ads which are playing on other videos on Youtube, I think it's one of them.

I believe AMD has to pay TSMC in advance to produce those chips, I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't afford ordering much more than they did even if they expected such interest. I'd love to read a verification of that idea by someone who actually knows something about it though.

So you're increasing the temp in the case with GPU usage too and your ambient is probably 5-10'C higher than most people have during tests, then it's acceptable imo.

It's as you said, they can take a whole lot of beating. The reality is, there are limited chip manufacturing resources, if you delete Intel from the equation, it doesn't matter if it's AMD or Intel buying capacity of other fabs, there won't be enough.

I am buying so much stuff from China, usually without VAT, depending on how popular it is in India I think that could make them loose quarter of their clients(6.4b people outside of China, 1.4b of them are from India, if those apps are overly poplar there they could make up even a bigger part of their trade). It is not trivial, I know that much, I have no knowledge about the situation which would warrant a more opinionated comment.

Just to be clear, your point is about the car being small, not automatic? In my case the requirement is to parallel park in the space that's 1.5x car's length, regardless if it's 3m or 6m long, this is not cheating and if you think she had more than 1.5x her car's size, it'd be examiner's choice. From my experience bigger cars I drove were relatively more agile, to make up for the size they were able to turn the wheels further, so it's conceivable that a smaller car will be tougher to park in a space 1.5 its size.

My tablet uses 2.2GB of memory with Emby, Tachiyomi, Gmail, Photos, Discord, Discord cloned by CloneApp and Youtube running, no app gets closed due to memory. After I opened Firefox it even dropped to 2GB, anyway I don't think 3 GB is going to be an issue, it's not a lot of free space, but that's going to be an issue only with apps that hog memory and throwing more RAM at those is not the solution anyway.

I bet Linus is going to upgrade it 3 times before winter, most likely submerging the house in mineral oil in the end.
