We are repeatedly threatened to be banned from the Discord. Hard to give a blow by blow account on Twitter. I guess I could pull a Pokimane and use the notes app on my phone, lol. We have specifically asked them. We have had long discussions. This is something that has gone on for years.
I have a lot of respect for everyone who works at LMG and FP. I know that they don't see what is going on in the server. If they want they have the power to see the whole picture by reviewing the mod chat, audit log, and searching dates and times. Mod chat is especially important, because that is where mods talk about us, lol. I have seen screenshots. 
I am definitely not a model citizen. I am not a victim. I have zero filter, A horrible temper, I am highly inappropriate at times. Basically a female Linus, lol. I love this community though. I will stand up for those who have been treated unfairly and especially those who have been discriminated against by an authority figure.
I never felt like I fit anywhere else. I have always felt "different" than other people. When I went to LTX2019, it was the first time I felt comfortable being around other people. I have always been considered eccentric, outgoing, immature, and awkward. I grew up in a town where I was brainwashed from birth that the way I felt about the other sex was a sin and I was going to hell. I have felt immense shame and to this day still have conflicting feelings about myself and my identity.
LTT has given me a way to connect with my son and some amazing friends that I talk to every single day. I am very active in Pilot Chat. It isn't the same anymore since my group of friends were banned and now Sarah has been driven out by hate. I just want to have a fun place to banter with friends again and be excited about tech together. A place that isn't trying to scrub the existence of LGBTQIA+ from it's servers. We aren't talking politics. We aren't bringing up current events, laws, protests, discussions, etc. They deleted my "Happy Pride Day" post and a picture of a really cool battle station that just happened to have a trans flag on the wall and was not the main focus. I'm sorry but that is not okay. I have said Happy Easter, Christmas, Hanukkah, 4th of July, Valentines, [insert card making company manufactured holiday here] and there has never been an issue. It is censorship and discrimination.

Again LGBT has a bit more clearer boundaries (some being physical and some identity), while "LGBTQIA+" (+ various or any identities) could in a sense mean 99% or everyone for that matter?

For the record, your Folding badge (and everyone elses) double as a direct link to your FAH stats, and I always use the XOC links over the stats.foldingathome links as they show a lot more information. 

From there, you can easily find the Team stats in the top right left hand corner, as well as details on highest current PPD on the team, how many users are within a certain amount of points, projected position overtakes, etc.

Ahh.. well I run the stats script for the event so I just looked in the data for the event.

Folding@home is a network of volunteer computers distributed around the world that aims to perform biomedical research with the single intent of helping to further understand and develop cures for a range of diseases such as; Alzheimer's, cancer, and Parkinson's. The exact research that is done is simulating the 'folding' of proteins in the body, this is important because the function of a protein id directly related to its physical shape. And this, when the protein is created in the body it needs to reshuffle its shape to get into the correct structure to perform its task. Many illnesses can be linked to faulty proteins in the body such as many cancers and neurological issues, along with a wide number of other general health concerns. This network if compared with the TOP500 list of supercomputers would outclass every single entry on the list, Folding@home has been of the fastest computing systems in the world, reaching a speed of over 2.1 petaFLOPS. 
 
If you are wondering what exactly has been done with all this computing power then you can check out the papers written by the scientists and researchers that use the folding network, I will warn you though many of them are very in depth reads and in turn this means they are often fairly technical.

To qualify for badges you must meet the minimum requirements for participation which for this event will be as follows minimum requirements: 500k points, 40WUs, and 20 days of activity over the course of the whole month. This is subject to change for future events as we find out what the sweet spot is to include as many people as possible but not make it too easy to just get a free badge.

Don't forget to get yourself a passkey from the link below to ensure that you hit the points requirement, the passkey is a feature that was added a while ago to the Folding Client that helps to authenticate each user on the network, an added bonus of this is the fact that it allows you to qualify for QRB(Quick Return Bonus) Points, QRBs are extra points you earn for submitting work units more quickly, such as if you have faster hardware or let the client fold full time, rather than on idle. QRB credit is awarded after 10 WUs have been submitted. You can get your passkey from the link below.

Please remember that this is the first event that will be governed by the new rules, these rules were first discussed at the end of last folding month and will be in effect for the duration of the event.
 
Failing to meet the minimum requirements.
 
Publicly discussing the administration of the event;
If you have an issue with the way in which the event is being conducted please reach out to an appropriate member of the event team.
 
Signing up to the event with a folding identity that is believed to not be your own.
 
Signing up to the event with more than one folding identity.
 
Conducting yourself in a manner that is believed to be not in the spirit of the event, this includes but not limited to the below;
purposefully only meeting the minimum requirements, acting to undermine the integrity of the event, to attempt to cause division within the community. 
 
Breaking any one of these rules will result in a disqualification from the event. It is also important to know that there is no appeal process for disqualifications.

I know he likes buffalo flavored jerky, so maybe he will finish without dissolving into a puddle. This would be a great opportunity to talk about LTX too. Thanks! ***EDIT*** This would also be a great floatplane exclusive with the crew or channel super fun.

1. You setup a PUBLIC facing login page and are surprised some bot is trying to login?
2. You failed to properly secure your VNC settings to not blacklist failed attempts after x number of attempts
3. This is not a DDOS attack, this is a bot trying to login and poke for vulnerabilities, which, if they are any they will find.
4. You should NEVER setup RDP/VNC/etc. on a public facing connection unless you're ready for the hassle it will bring.
5. Blacklisting this IP address will not stop the bots from trying, they know your connection has a VNC port open, more will come.
 
Edit:
I completely agree with the above, stop port forwarding the VNC port to start with and hope the attempts die down or stop once the port is no longer reachable. Also look into using a VPN setup to remotely access this securely.

We haven't set an official date quite yet, hoping to have that before the end of this year though. Looking at July/August of next year.
