Sony Vaio's back in the day had some type of workaround that everything would install to a different partition so there might be a way. None that come to mind

Yes saving to the desktop is C:\Users\%Username%\Desktop. You can reroute where folders go for any and all folders including desktop. Most are through Reg Key Modifications or Local Group Policy (Pro Operating Systems).
A common use of that is Folder Redirection in Windows and Active Directory Domains.
Most programs by nature will assume C:\ , keeping in mind programs installed to your HDD will run from your HDD, so if you need the speed of the SSD say for a game you need to install it to the SSD.

you most likely could have just done this from the Settings - Apps and Features list.

BB TECH got a reaction from kirashi in DNS Server not responding
Some causes could be
1.) Your Router is Faulty
2.) Your plugged into a switch that is faulty
3.) Your Ethernet Jack in your mobo has wrong driver or is faulty,
4.) You have some malware on your computer. Proxy, or Host File modifications.
Does your DNS work in safe mode with networking. You could also download a live disc of Ubuntu and see if that works fine for a while, dont install it just run it off the disc. That would tell you if its windows or hardware.

Also it makes a big difference if say you had a 240 and a 480 ssd that you wanted to stipe (raid 0), in that case you would only get the most of the smallest denominator, so those stripe would only be max 240GB.
Raid takes a while to wrap anyones head around, but once you got it down pat , it comes easier.
This is a good explanation of what each raid level does, its sort of alot to digest, but its worth a read

BB TECH got a reaction from mosh1e in Raid Question
When you put 2 drives (or more) into a raid, they become one. So 2 x SSD Raid 0 , would become one larger Raid 0 SSD. As long as you dont put the 2tb in a raid then it would just a regular old disk.
Even inside of the same make, they would have different read and write speeds, i suppose you could attempt it if they had identical speeds, but usually you want to keep the exact make and model so they are both capable of exactly the same speeds etc
