I love the "Never Settle" tagline is still being used...like if you're buying this instead of their flagship phone aren't you technically "settling" for the cheaper model🤔

10C is a LOT for a laptop - that's the difference between running at 3.7 and 4.1 under load.

Also fan noise was only on complaint on the Zephyrus M which didn't have any fan blocking. In fact, Asus purposefully open the laptop fans on all high end Zephyrus models so that more air can be moved. It's the hallmark of the series. This is a massive shift in tone without any logical comment when pressed about it

    Nahh don't be like that.
A video of people being getting brutally attacked, hit in the face and held down against their will being marked as "offensive" on Youtube? That's clearly Youtube trying to suppress free speech! Down with Youtube for putting up a warning before offensive videos!
    (sarcasm)

This entire controversy reminds me of countless other examples where people feel like rules don't apply to them just because they imagine themselves sitting on a high horse, and anyone who stands in their ways is "oppressive" and bad. It's a very tribal mentality.
"It's okay for me to break rules because I am doing it for a good cause! What? You're enforcing the rules on me anyway? You must be an extremist who is against me!".
If you have rules like "no violence" then that applies to both sides. You are not allowed to break rules just because "it's for a cause I agree with", nor are the people who will enforce the rules "against your cause" or "taking the opposite stance".

I think I'm going off topic here
Funny enough Shanghai has pride marches which doesn't even exist in nearby countries.
Got a BNO so I get to decide whether or not I should stay in the city or move to a commonwealth country if my livelihood is in danger. You could say Hong Kong could self govern like Singapore but they have even less elections than us.
The situation both here and there are developing so I'll see how this will turn out.

I live in Hong Kong right now and for a few months the protests did turn violent. I would say it would be equivalent to Minneapolis day 2 (but not day 3) where rioting and looting starts.

Past month's protests were slightly less severe. Slightly.

Have to shake my head at the people blindly lashing out at Apple even as outside experts say that Zerodium's claims are full of hype and not as dire as they're made out to be.

I'm not so naive as to think iOS is completely airtight, but remember that some security researchers thrive on exaggerating threats to draw publicity.  It's easy to get attention if you say iOS security is ruined and don't have to explain the flaws (not that they should, since they should still honour disclosure policies); don't be surprised if it turns out that the flaws disclosed post-patch aren't nearly as exciting as they sounded before.

I'm not under the illusion iOS is rock-solid security wise, but it is odd to hear people lashing into it as they cheer on Android, a platform known for poor security update policies, poor oversight of app submissions and more real-world malware attacks.  I still find it wild that Google lets OEMs release security updates as far apart as 90 days from each other.  Imagine if Dell or HP was allowed to skip some vital Windows patch because they didn't 'feel' like delivering it... there'd be riots!

Remember when AMD rehashes Bulldozer for years and years and released the FX9590 with a freaking water cooler bundled and a minimum 220W capable VRM board? Intel have been sitting on Skylake and 14nM for about the same amount of time and yet just now, starting to be edged out in competitiveness. This is like a once in a decade thing! It wouldn't be Direct Memory Access anymore if you somehow restrict it. They could call it SDMA or Secure DMA and place some sort of restrictions on it. Problem with hardware is, when flaw is found, there is no easy way in fixing it. Which makes sense why MS opted for simply not including it.

You missed the first sentence of the quote.
So how is MS supposed to fix DMA if it bypasses the OS...DMA devices are designed to be able to bypass OS items; which is why they have been dangerous for years.  The hardware itself is usually the one that needs to change, DMA devices in general provide a more open window for attack. (Just like how firewire on Macs for a while allowed you full access).  DMA devices are just more dangerous.

In my opinion though, this just seems like an excuse.  Soldered ram and no thunderbolt on consumer laptops to me just says they are making excuses why they won't put it in.

Well it could have been from another Dell and all of those optiplex are sold months ago. But definitely a very very low profile cable indeed.
Speaking of modding Dells, have you ever seen an XPS 8700 moded to accept an B450m board with a R5 3600 and a GTX 1080? Did this for one of my client whose wife disapprove of anything blingy in my client computer. So sort of like a sleeper builds. The pictures are taken with a RX 470 because at the time the 1080 was not yet decided on.

I needed an even lower profile cable to fit under the GPU, so I cut the included one myself since the connector had a lot of bulky plastic on the sheathing. Made sure no wires were exposed and it was set.

Not all that moded. This is one of the five system I sold to my customer ages ago. Mods are:
Removal of the HDD cage. That thing interferes with longer GPU. You can mount the HDD on the 3.5" bay below the DVD bays
DO REMEMBER to save the temperature sensor. it is mounted a top where the old HDD bays would be. Without that the fans of the system WILL BE PINNED at 100%
Remove the PCIE bracket for better GPU compatibility
The integrated heatsink that goes with this mobo is actually quite good. You can swap it out for others if you please but you will need a new socket loading mechanism before you do that and you will be limited to a 90mm equipped cooler. So, don't bother.
If you get the version with support for 3rd gen CPUs, the USB 3.0 front panel header WILL interfere with longer GPU though. The Gigabyte RX 470 winforce I have here just barely fits.
Do keep the right angled sata connector that goes with the case. They are special low profile right angle connector. Since Dell in their infinite wisdom have the sata ports right under where a GPU would go, you WILL NEED THOSE LOW PROFILE RIGHT ANGLE SATA CABLE to hook up your drives.
All in all, a decent rig for about 300$

I've worked on a few mac mostly order pre 2015 macbook pros and those are fine, skipping the weird 2013 mac that was upgradeable but never got any new gpus. mac pro line is fine to good. Other than they have hiked the price, chosen bad value parts and have said screw you to anyone who doesn't have 10k to drop on a machine.
iMacs look nice but need work on making them easy to get into to clean. they have usually a pretty good value considering the screen until you want to upgrade and use that same screen.
Mac mini, 2018 refresh is a good update but a version with a GPU is needed to fill a spot that the 2-3k mac pro used to be in.

overall issues with 99% of post 2015 macs. No ports, fixed ram, SSD, impossible to get parts.
new macbooks suck. they have charging issues, no real ports, bad cooling, ect.
The new iphones are fast sure but 1500$ for a phone is crazy. I'd take a 500$ phone and a 1k camera any day.

if apple went back to 2015 skip the mac pro taking 7 years they'd be a good company but they've gone down the drain.
quick note I daily a 6s and then a 5s before. My gf uses a 2013 15 and used to use a 2015 13. I used 2010 mac pros in school for 3 years and did major work on them.

Let me mention some awesome things about apple.

    Failing butterfly keyboards,
    Torn display flex cables,
    Exploding TB3 controllers,
    Dysfunctional fuzes
Sending 50v to the CPU when in a humid room,
Running at 100*C cause cooling is hard,
Asking 2000$ for an SSD upgrade,
Encrypting soldered SSDs and removing lifeboat connector so as to make data recovery impossible,
"Fixing" a desoldered chip by putting a piece of rubber on it.
Making iMAc Power Suuply that can kill you when cl among it (no shielding)
Making a bendable phone before it was cool (6s)
Making a bendable tablet before it was cool (iPad from a year or two ago)
Quoting ridiculous prices to fix working electronics that only need a bit of cleaning.

Stop rabbiting about Apple, use your brain and see that the trillion dollar company deserves to be called out.
