  1. This phone has just been announced by the CEO of BlackBerry a few weeks ago and it has been a torrent of leak culminating in this pre released review of the phone. All in all the phone is quite good with top end spec ( Snapdragon 800 SOC, 3Gb of ram, 32Gb of internal memory and an 4.5" screen with the resolution of 1440x1440) but let be real here, this phone is for works only. This phone is for those who needs to cranks out emails like crazy on the go. The phone design is quite Bold (pun intended) an to me is a refreshing change from the black 16:9 slate that phones have becomes over the years. Head over to CrackBerry and read the review for yourselves http://crackberry.com/exclusive-pre-release-review-blackberry-passport
  2. or the 2312hm is also a good alternative from Dell. Using mine and can't be happier No monitor on the market will have freesync until 2015 link http://www.anandtech.com/show/8129/computex-2014-amd-demonstrates-first-freesync-monitor-prototype
  3. OK so this is the comparison between the 1230v3 and the 1280v3. Just hang in there for a moment with me here. I hate proxy comparision but we have to make do with what we got http://ark.intel.com/compare/75057,75054 So you see that the 1230 is just 300mhz slower than the 1280 right, roughly 10% at turbo speed and 8% at stock speed. Since the two chip is from the same family, the performance is some what directly related to clock speed. So single threaded performance is roughly the same compaired to the I5, but multi threaded performance is night and day difference. The I5 got stomped in that regard. Rendering is going to be a hell of a lot faster on the Xeon side of thing. And correct me if I'm worng the I5 and the Xeon is going to be paired with the same 780 right ? Gaming performance is going to be the same but if you do any rendering or video editing at all, and I means AT ALL, go wwith the Xeon. If you go with the Xeon you don't have to get a fancy cooler for it, the stock one works just as fine. Maybe a little more noisy but if that some thing you could live with then good for you. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7189/choosing-a-gaming-cpu-september-2013/5
  4. yeah but that's a push pull config. Just one fan if you afraid of it being too tight
  5. I'm getting the 120gb version of the two. And the seller is only giving a 3 years warranty on each of them. But my system have a butt ton of RAM for an mITX build so the RAM caching feature on the EVO is quite compelling. I could pony up to 2x240gb on RAID 0 though, is there going to be any performance increase other than more space
  6. Ha HA and it's also the cheaper one too. Moar money for me to use on other stuff then. Thanks guys for such speedy replies
  7. So after a few months living with a WD green drive, I have save up enough to upgrade my PC. But there's this one tiny problem, which SSDs to get. Those two aforementioned SSDs are really close in price where I live (less than 2.50$ for one) and I want the best possible choice for my hard earned loot. Which one is better in RAID 0, which one will sustain their performance for longer ? those are the question I need the answer to. Thanks guys
  8. I'm using a Zotac H87 wifi and quite happy with it. It have absolutely everything in there. mSATA port which is a live saver, PCIE port for wifi card that's already included and the rear Io is just amazing. Dual ethernet, 4 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0, Displayport, DVI, HDMI the whole sabang. The downside is that the Bios screen looks likes it's from 2005 and the fugly orange color of the PCB. The 4 pin aux power connector is damm close to the graphic card so cable management is gonna be difficult. Just my two cent here
  9. Not a worthy upgrade over my UH2312 I'm using at the moment. They just slap a new web cam in and call it a day. Heck they didn't even add a HDMI connector on them over the last generation
  10. I'm using an E120 from CM atm and it's serving me quite well, beside from the lack of filtered intake built in ( But could be modded easily) it's damm near perfect. But I'm a cheap bum and you should take my words with a pinch of salt
  11. Ok I've just built an Itx rig for my self so this is what I chose for my self The case I recommend using an CM E120 ITX case. Cheap as hell and will be able to stuff alot of stuff in there. this could be found for around 48-49 $ that equals 28-30 quid maybe ? The Motherboard I'm using is a Zotac H87 wifi Itx. it's the same as the Asus one but come with a wireless card already and have an extra Msata port which would be of immense help in small from factor build. This came in at around 100$ so 60 quid maybe but you don't have to buy a wireless card for it. The GTX 750 is a good start but I suggest going for a 750Ti 2gb one. Much much faster and will be able to do proper 1080 gaming. And for the love of god don't use the Celeron, pony up to a I3 4130 at least if you want to go Intel. It is only 20 odd so quid more than the Celeron and that cost is covered by the change of Mobo and case. Just my two cent
  12. Thanks you all for your answer. Guess I'll have to jump in and try it out then. Wish me luck
  13. The Xeon one is a steal. Price of an I5 while perform like an I7
  14. Ok so I have a Zotac H87wifi and it is serving me very well. I'm planning to get my CPU upgraded from the i3 4130 to the Xeon E3 1230v3 but no where on the Internet could any conclusive info on the compatibility or incompatibility of the CPU to the mobo. Heck even Zotac haven't tested the CPU on the board and I've asked them directly. So anyone of you know anything conclusive because as far as I know many H87 board can be use with the Xeon.
  15. OK so this is my first post on this threat so self, don't cock it up 1. My dad wanted to get a new cable for my Ufi speakers because the one that came with them are short and unable to hook up to the rear of my case so they have to be hooked the the USB hub that's on my DEll UH2312. Since he and my mom wanted to watch movies on my pc from their "big" screen TV, this meant that the monitor have to be turned on all the time ruining the experience. This is the set up in my cramp home so you guys can get a better understanding of the problem Long story short, he went out and got the wrong cable. This is quite surprising because he have a nice sound set up in the living room. Maybe the idea of a USB dac and speaker combo is too new to him. Anyway noob question, how do I get HDMI audio out of my PC on a separate stream from my game. HDMI audio doesn't work on my Zotac H87 mITX wifi board using windows 7. And is it safe to cut my freakishly long HD201 headphone cable and replacing the connector or is it just better off tying the thing up
  16. FULL metal unibody does it for me, and free stuff too
  17. Thanks you guys for clearing that up. Because the board maker uses a strange PICE conector compared to others that make me wondering. Again thanks you all
  18. http://www.zotac.com/products/mainboards/intel-cpu/product/intel-cpu/detail/h87-itx-wifi-a-series.html I'm curently running this Mobo in my rig and planning to drop in a new GPU in it. But the spec sheet don't say which PCIE version I'm running, just say PCIE 16x. I attach the shot of my PCIE slot for you guys, total noob here
  19. are you THAT into OCing ? an I5 have 4 cores/4 threads while an Xeon like the 1230e3v3 have 4 cores/8threads not to mention alot more cache for the same ammount of money. Just think for a second
  20. get a Xeon V3 if you don't plan to use the intergrated graphic. Cheap as an i5 but perfomre like an i7 without the intergrated graphic
  21. http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2312HM-IPS-Monitor/dp/B005LN1JEC pony up to this thing bro, much much better. I'm using it and loving every second of it
