  1. Fried 6 1080 EVGA cards years ago when assembling a mining rig and plugged the PCIE riser in reverse.
  2. Probably the GPU portion is lasered off, the CPU can't clock as high in the power and thermal limit or a combination of both. If the GPU portion is good though it is an absolute steal, even if they lasered off two cores.
  3. https://www.amazon.com/CRJ-Splitter-Adapter-Sleeved-Graphics/dp/B07T95C68T/ref=pd_lpo_147_t_0/133-4016280-5324161?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07T95C68T&pd_rd_r=791d56a4-a306-4a23-ab1c-ff5a978a7eb6&pd_rd_w=weDrG&pd_rd_wg=iTbGj&pf_rd_p=3b5203d9-bdd0-47f6-97e5-387010fc3251&pf_rd_r=DMRJVG03D8NMGSJFNHKQ&psc=1&refRID=DMRJVG03D8NMGSJFNHKQ You need something like this to control the fans from the graphic card.
  4. Okay. So building a pf sense box it is then. Hopefully this will go over well and not ending up with boss screaming at me.
  5. We get 250/250 both ways. So most likely the router box then. Poor freebie pos, never knew what hit it. We get 250/250 megabit up and dow, or 30 ish megabyte up and down. Sorry, English is not my mother tongue and networking speed is confusing (Thanks ISP for wanting to put bigger number)
  6. We have one ISP connection. The problem isn’t bandwidth, since we are on the second fastest internet speed for business here. The problem is that the router can’t handle the load being hammered by 10 client at once needing top quality of service ie low latency and high consistency. We can download GTA V in like half an hour so we can’t call it slow. 35-40MiB/s is like 200-300MB/s you know. A third of the way to gigabit internet. So from what you are saying I need that PF sense box huh.
  7. Well, title is a bit deceiving since it doesn’t really sucks. We get 35-40 MiB/s out of it and it is decent enough for the 30 odd so people typing away doing desk work. But the problem is after hours, we held CSGO tournament with all the people there and we get stutter, lag spike all the time. No drop or loss recorded in game though, just the router box that the ISP gave us craps out under the load (20 clients all sending traffic to 128 ticks servers on a puny freebie internet “box” isn’t fun). So, the boss gave me a few hundred bucks to make this problem goes away. I was thinking of turning the old ISP box into a optical converter box i.e it takes the network signal and spit out optical signal back to the ISP. The actual routing will be done by an PFsense box. Probably will be an old Dell sff optiplex box with a quad nic card in it. Before I jump the gun and do this, would this help solve my problem? Or would just getting what they call a load balancer be what I need and I don’t need to faff with building a pfsense box? many thanks.
  8. Most PC case made out of steel is not galvanized, they depends on the paint for rust protection. You can strip the original paint, lightly sand the steel, apply primer and paint the raw steel as much as you wish
  9. Low powered cpu doesn’t have the PCIe lanes for rx card zombie mode or the 3060 in windows for mining eth. Also with the amount of pcie connectivity you see here, after the mining boom these board will have more life out of them
  10. Yeah that’s a given. Looking to score some cheap 3060s when all of this went down and buckle up for the long haul with them.
  11. This changes everything. Before all the PCIe traffic goes through the chipset and thus very very slow. This is much much faster and is more suitable even for general compute and multi GPU setup for rendering.
  12. Yes, but they usually utilize chipset PCIe lane at 1x speed, which doesn't meet the requirement for mining on 4GB RX card at this time and RTX 3060. Both need PCIe 8x to run at full speed. Also with this much PCIe bandwidth, the board will have more useful life as low cost server motherboard if you want all the PCIe connection you will ever need. This board is newly made to deal with the needs of the market right now.
  13. Welp they finally did it, they killed any chance for gamer to get any kind of GPUs anytime soon. Welcome to the straight out of China dual Xeon LGA 2011 mining motherboard. With this board and the "accidentally leaked" driver from Nvidia that unlock the 3060 mining potential as long as it is plugged into a PCIe 3.0 8x slot and have a dummy HDMI plug plugged in, this spells the end for the 3060 and even RX series with 4GB of vram (the RX 4GB card can mine at full speed when connected to a PCIe 3.0 8x interface) The motherboard in question: Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. Those are dual LGA 2011 socket motherboard with 8(!) PCIe gen 3 by 8 slots specifically for mining purposes. Well at least after the mining boom is over this board will be a very very good GPU AI trainer since it will be running xeons with full bandwidth to the GPUs. I just got this tip off from my supplier in Vietnam, will update as I get more information on it.
  14. I got them direct from the supplier. And those two are the only ones there is. That two also represent double digit percentage of all the 3090s that is available on launch for all brands in the country that I lives. So if you wait on launch day to get them, you ain’t got a chance.
  15. Just gonna flex the two 3090 I got today for my client. The dude dropped full cash for this thing the day it was announced, basically pre-ordering it and now is a very happy camper and NOT having to beat the bots to get it.
