Your problem sounds like the same thing that's been happening to me. I'm almost positive it's your Internet. I'm on DLS @ 5 Mbps, if I get more than one police helicopter on me the game starts to lag. If the cops are not on me I get 75-120+ FPS any where on the map. It"s only a problem online. In single player mod I'v never had a problem. I know it's not my system as I'm running 2 EVGA 980's and a I7 3930k . If you have fast internet , I would check your firewall settings. Hope that helps ya out.

I have Two MSi GTX 580 lightning 1.5Gig cards. I ran them till the 980 came out and now am running two EVGA 980 FTW in SLI. I have to say they still work great, been thinking of small build for them, tho a bit power hungry and HOT.

3D vision only works @ 120Hz. Each shutter runs @ 60Hz .

I have two EVGA 2986 FTW 980's and LOVE them . I upgraded from two MSI 580 lightnings and it was a massive improvement . I have only gotten coil-whine during 3D mark benchmark , no coil-whine on valley , a little on load screens for games when the FPS go's above my refresh rate. Hope that helps you out

They are the 1.5G, Wish I had got the 3G cards but they were sold out when I built this PC in 2011.

Ok , Put my old 580's back in. Had a problem with one of my 980's so I had to RMA So here are my two MSI GTX 580 lightnings in SLi with GPUz this time and a better OC. Not bad for an older card.

Had some time to Play with these new 980's . Thanks for the tip Jumper118. Boosting the memory helped a lot.
