I'm with you 100% on this. I'm gonna try to use my current setup for a long time. I play older stuff and esports games that run well on a potato. I have no need to upgrade, but I know how I am and if something new comes out and I can actually buy it I probably will.

I think the SHP 9500 with a Vmoda boom pro mic is within your budget. Really good combo and the mic is 10x better than any gaming headset mic.

The card would have to be pretty cheap for me to even consider buying it. I wouldn't pay over $250 but that's me. This is a card that released 5 years ago, it might not be that old but expecting that card to last a few more years is a stretch. If you play old games at 1080p or stuff like siege, valorant, cs go you'll be ok but new releases might not be a good time

I would upgrade the CPU to a 9900k, sell the 9700k online and keep the 3070. 
 
I use a 3070 with a 1440p 144hz monitor and have no complaints. I couldn't imagine running a 3080ti on a 1080p panel.  Such a waste

I don't know what they use for the gloss finish but it makes it stick almost like grip tape with dry hands.  

Sounds like you're doing fine with income, a 3080 is more than some people's cars 🙂

Series X controller. It just feels better than the One controller. In general, though, Xbox controllers are still the best PC controllers.

Not even my 3080Ti has enough power to max out some games at max settings and 1440p with 144hz.
