Okay, so while I tried to decide the 2060S went out of stock and the other 2060S are way more expensive and I actually found a 5700 for just 296€ and because I didn't want it to go out of stock too I just bought it!

Wish me luck that I don't have stability issues ?

    1. Depends on country. The RX 580 in will have the best price/performance ratio in most countries, with the RX 570 in second place.
    2. RX 5700 XT (5th best price/performance ratio for midrange after the Vega 56, RTX 2060, RX 5700, and RTX 2060 Super) or RTX 2070 Super. (though the Super might be outside the "mid-range" category due to being priced over $450USD)
    3. RTX 2080 TI. It is the best consumer GPU out there, no question. (no one is going to buy the Titan V CEO Edition just to beat a 2080 TI by ~1% on a benchmark) It's nowhere near a decent price/performance ratio though, owing to its $1000USD price tag. (still better than its launch price of $1200 though)

that MSI card looks very quiet with those two big fans...this would be a card i'd like if it wasn't that i have a MSI 1080ti Gaming X Trio... ? but yeah, MSI gaming cards are very well built...good fans and bearings, good heatsinks etc.

I've never had much luck with Gigabyte stuff... my current Aorus B450 board has been a constant pain and refuses to work with 3200mhz ram... and even at 3000mhz it still randomly boots up and resets the bios.

Updated it to F42a 2 weeks ago and still not fixed, still won't run the memory any higher.... Be glad when I upgrade to a B550 board when they come out and this one can be relegated to my mediaserver as that needs an upgrade.

So if their vid cards are as flaky as their boards... I'd avoid them.

I have however just picked up a 5700XT Pulse after having the RX580 Pulse for a few years... and it seems solid so far, performance is good thermals are good and it's boosting to 2000mhz rather than the 1925 advertised and staying within 20mhz of that target whilst gaming.  So far I've boosted the memory from 1750 to 1900 too... and will continue to tweak in the coming days.  My old 580 Pulse wasn't great on core OC (only got about 70 extra, but the memory would happily max out @ 2250 up from stock 2000.

So at this point... I can recommend the sapphire pulse, and it's a fair bit cheaper than the Nitro... although that may vary depending on country... UK here, so we get screwed.

I have mine OCed to its limit and I still can't hear the fan over the noise my case already makes but I should point out that I do have one fan that has squeaky bearings and makes way more noise than it should so not a fair comparison. I was going to replace the fan this month but I've decided to go full custom loop after Christmas is over so I can live with it for now.

As for temps, it can get quite toasty, I've seen 85°c under a stress test but for average gaming it normally stays below 80°c.

Yea, but lets forget about MSI's crappy 5700/5700XT Evoke, EVGA's huge GTX 900 series heatsink screw up, and ASUS overpriced cards for something that looks "cooler" than the others.

I've never had an issue with Gigabyte and neither has a single one of my friends. Just a senseless hate train for the company from people saying they screw up more than other manufacturers (which is, uh... false...).

The answer to your question is simple. Different benchmarks, different systems, different results and therefore.. different conclusions. He included a game where DLSS was used, therefore the gap closed between the 5700XT and 2060 Super to just 6%. He also only tested in 4 games.

He makes good points but as I say..people come to different conclusions and that's fine. He is in the minority but his opinion is valid.

For example..this Paul's Hardware video is on the other end, where the 5700XT is seen smashing the 2060 Super by nearly 15%, even at 4k. Again, this video is similarly in the minority of reviews, but on the other end of the spectrum.

Personally if you want the best picture for a graphics card as to how they perform against their competition, there is of course no better channel for that than Hardware Unboxed, as you can see here:

I would say Hardware Unboxed tends to be on the money every time, they are usually always in the middle ground and give you tons of benchmarks. I always go to them first when a new GPU or CPU arrives on the scene.

My point is..everybody is right because they interpret only what THEY saw with their own eyes using THEIR unique setup.

This is why outlining testing methodology is so important. Everybody loves their userbenchmark and whatnot, but if you only read the conclusion without knowing the testing methodology, the data is useless. Tech Deals reached a conclusion that many on this forum haven't, but he also showed how he got there, so the data can be understood.
These are all legitimate reasons to favor a product over another, which should considered when buying.  Of course the issues noted

are also significant, but the important thing is that we know this happened and can factor it into our own decisions instead of relying on the conclusion of the reviewer.

Overall not a bad review, even if you think 5700XT > 2060S there's plenty of meat here.

    They should perform equally.
The clock speeds don't matter as they're based on completely different platforms/processors.
The AMD driver issues are minor but slightly annoying things that happen every couple of weeks or months. They're common but not that bad; otherwise nobody would recommend AMD cards.

However, even if the 2060 Super is the better option, I'd still stay with AMD because Gigabyte is a trash GPU manufacturer in my opinion anyway

I've been running a 5700 XT Pulse since pretty much launch day, the only problem I've ever encountered has been with HDR. Drivers are rock solid and never crash. What I can't comment on is Radeon ReLive (AMDs Shadowplay equivalent) as I've never used it.

Also the 5700XT is closer to the 2070 than the 2060 Super in most titles.

For performance, 5700XT's lead isnt as small as it seems. It's just that no 5700XT runs nearly as much factory overclock as Nvidia cards in general do which makes them look slower.

Screen capture acceleration with Radeons is terrible, you'll have to rely on the CPU for that. That said you could totally capture lossless and compress it later (even after editing)

Drivers-wise, I'd they both are just as likely to go wrong. AMD's just more known for this because they screw it up on every launch and fix it later.

I would recommend against Gigabyte cards, personally. If you're buying AMD, Sapphire is going to be your best bet. The Nitro+ is going to provide better thermals, as it sports a triple fan cooler as opposed to the dual on the Pulse. However! IMO, the Pulse cards have always been the better looking of the bunch if you're asking me. Just look up the Nitro+ RX 590 if you don't believe.

Tl;dr the Nitro+ will be quieter and run cooler, while the Pulse will (likely) be a bit cheaper and perform the same.

Cases don't really lose quality, they just go out of style. Newer cases are more competitive than they used to be. I'd argue that newer cases of 2019 are much higher quality than cases of 2013 for the same price, and this becomes more true the higher the price tag (Evolv X for example is a much more "premium" feeling cases than cases available for $180 in 2013)

From a strictly functional standpoint, the extra fan is the only reason I'd consider the GX500 over the NR600, if you don't plan on changing out the fans at all. Personally if it was up to me, I like the modern look of the NR600 and if I needed it, I could get the extra fan after the system is built.

The Antec model is old and technically discontinued, so there's low supply of the case which artificially inflates the price above what it would have sold for at launch in 2014.
You cannot directly compare those two numbers, as they're two completely different systems, and one measures real temperature and one measures Delta T over ambient (meaning you basically add 20ºC to the temperature)
Brand means basically nothing when it comes to cases. Any brand can make a great case and a terrible case, I will refrain from making the "case by case" pun and simply say every case is a little different.
It's sturdy, but it's not critical to the structural integrity of the case any more or less than a normal side panel would be.
The NR600 is more modern but comes with two fans, as opposed to the GX500's three fans (two at the top as exhaust) If you were getting the GX500, I'd move those two top fans to the front as intake. The GX500 is the better value assuming the prices are the same, but if the NR600 is $10 or more less than the GX500, I'd get that since you can buy a fan for about $10 and get the same airflow (or just save $10)

I would consider that to be very quiet, assuming that's an entire system's max dBA. For a single fan though, 35 dBA is loud because you often have two or three of those fans which raises the overall system noise, though keep in mind most people do not leave their fans running at 100% speed (Usually 50-75% for case fans) so each fan will usually not reach their max dBa rating.
They're fine. Anything below 80C is the general rule of thumb, though CPU's and GPU's can terchnically opperate into the 90C's although not generally advised.

Katarn reacted to porina in [RAM] Has 3600 MHz made 3200 MHz Clock Speeds a Bad Choice for Ryzen Builds?
I think 3600 ram is meant to be the performance sweet spot, but it isn't by any means the value sweet spot. 3200 ram is still pretty decent. Most applications aren't that sensitive to ram bandwidth, which is primarily what ram speed gives you. The complication with Ryzen was that Infinity Fabric was also connected to ram speed, and that can have more of an impact. Also with Zen 2, you can run IF and ram at different speeds, and testing by others suggest running 3200 ram could be improved by increasing IF to 1800. You're going to have to look up benchmarks for how much and where that gets you.

BTW I've had good experiences running ram at 3600 and 4000 with Zen 2 on B450 and X370 boards. You don't necessarily have to have a X570. Bios version makes a big difference to ram compatibility, so check the mobo manufacturer is keeping up with at least 1.0.0.3 if you consider older chipsets.

I'd just go with 3200MHz CL15 if you really don't want to Overclock but, if you ever get into it, you can mess with many things like memory clocks and timings to get a bit more performance out of them.
