  1. Power Button LEDs are plugged in. I didn't expect them to light up as initially I didnt want the lights but then I read that connecting RGB Lights directly to PSU (someone posted it on tomshardware and I came across it when I was searching for some other problem related to an old build which I plan to give to someone and was thinking of making it look better). Now that is why I am like, holy crap I might just have destroyed the leds in my new build. Now I personally dislike RGB as it makes stuff look, umm , too gamer-y (can't really think of a better word cause it is primarily for gaming as I use mac for most of my work). I prefer professional looking desks. But, I would rather not have destroyed them and since they did light up in the first boot and never in subsequent boot, I am confused as to why they lit up first time without the controller. Also fans are default ones that come with the case: Cooler master MB511 ; https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/cases/mid-tower/masterbox-mb511/ tl;dr didnt want lights so didnt plug in controller. Read something that worried me that I might have destroyed my lights as LEDs did light up in the first boot and never in subsequent boot, I am confused as to why they lit up first time without the controller. 2. Just assembled a new PC: RTX 2060, Ryzen 7, 16GB 3000 MHz memory, Corsair vs550 PSU, MSI X470 Gaming plus motherboard, Gigabyte 480GB SSD. I’ve used it for 2 days now and it’s running perfectly fine. Rocket League ran 4K Maxed 60+ FPS, Yakuza Kiwami also 4K maxed out, and so on. Overall, PC is running properly. However, one thing is bugging me : the rgb fans in the front that I connected to the PSU via molex turned off after 2-3 seconds in first boot. Also one thing: I didnt use the controller, directly plugged the fans (never dealt with RGB so didnt really think about it). When I click the power on button on the case fan spins, the lights dont. Any idea why this is happening ? Someone said in a reply to someone else, that the led of the fans can not take the power directly from PSU and the leds will be destroyed. Is that the case ?? I will attach the first boot and in subsequent boots : no lights. Did I destroy those lights? video.mov
  3. So I have been playing games on my Alienware 15 2015 for the past 3 years and this is the first time I’ve faced an issue with the performance. In rocket league, I used to get 60FPS no drops smooth and everything set to max. Now, suddenly, during matches it falls to 30FPS or so and will automatically better after 1-2 mins and then again drop after a while. Also I used MSI afterburner and GPU temp was constant 79-81 C. Frame drop occurred after 10-12 mins of play and became normal after 2 mins.
  4. So I have a really old PC (like 2012 or so ). It has core i7 2600K, GTX 680 and 8GB Ram. Now I has closed this PC for over a year and was using a newer one but I decided to use the old one for some emulation gaming and old games in my living room. I decided to format the PC and I chose the clean it completely option. Now, my system is running slow af. Basic tasks are taking extreme amounts of time to load. Once they load it is fine. I was able to play RocketLeague 1080P with everything at high at 60 FPS no problem and GTA V also ran fine. However what I noticed was it was taking an obscene amount of time to download things despite the fact that I use a 1Gbps connection and my main PC downloads these things in an instant. And so I looked at the downloading progress in steam and the results were pretty weird. On one hand it works fast sometimes and really progresses to like 500MB instantly and then again slows to a crawl and sometimes stops for a while. I was looking across forums and someone suggested someone to use CrystamDiskInfo and I did and it is showing this. Caution shows : 208 bad sectors
  5. I have a fiber 1Gbps connection. I recently started facing some ping issues (which have been resolved ). However, during a speedtest I did, I noticed my speed was like 500Mbps. And so I raised a complaint with my provider who sent a technician who used an old dell laptop and my ethernet cable (the one connected to my alienware which is my main laptop ) to test my connection. Now, his speedtest showed 800+ close to 900Mbps constantly. I also used a friend's Lenovo laptop and even that has shown over 900Mbps. Idk if this issue is recent but I dont understand what could be causing this because my upload speed is the same as theirs (about 800Mbps). Is there anything I can do about this ? These are the results from my PC(the one showing 540.20 Mbps) and my friend's I ran all the tests multiple times and from 2-3 websites so the results are accurate. My system is an Alienware 15 2015. Both have been tested from the same wired connection.
  6. Yeah I was thinkinh the same thing. You mean in the future ? Yeah I will decide between 2080 and 2080ti then. Right now I cant rebuild the whole PC because I spent a lot on games during Christmas/Winter Sales (more than I would like to admit and across PS4, Switch and PC : these sales literally make games that I was never interested in seem lucrative. I dont even play on switch that much and I got 10+ games for that system lol).
  7. I was considering buying a RTX 2070 last week but a lot of people suggested for me to get rtx 2080. While I only have 500 USD spare right now, I will be able to get a RTX 2080ti in december during christmas (if not then, same time around next year). Currently I have a GTX 980M laptop and GTX 680 computer and I thought I could just upgrade the graphics card in the PC for now especially since I was planning to buy Resident Evil 2 and The division 2 on PS4 anyways (will get them for free with this card). So would you all suggest RX580 as a placeholder graphics card for the next year (till early 2020) for 1080P High/Ultra in upcoming titles and 4K Medium in Old titles (like AC Black Flag or a little more recent Witcher 3)? Also I dont need more that 60FPS as I am mostly a console gamer (so use to 30FPS in single player and 60FPS in multiplayer).
  8. You are right. I finally decided to just build a new PC around November. I might get a placeholder Graphics Card for now (like a RX 580 ). I am planning to go for core i7 whatever is the best one, RTX 2080 and all the bells and whistles. I will replace both my current iMac and Alienware with this setup and reconfigure my whole gaming room.
  9. Heard a lot about it. Thanks for the input. I’m getting a rtx 2080 next month.
  10. What modes do you play in rocket League ? And server?
  11. Yeah, I guess. IDK for sure how it works. Note 9 costed (my dad got it last month) about the same as in US but iphones cost a lot more than they do in US. IDK about the other two. Love konusuba though. Touhou project is a game right?
  12. The price of a 2080 in us is 800 usd right? Here it is 1150 usd. Electronics is pretty expensive here. Got my iphone xs max 256gb for like 1800 usd (approx). In case, you are wondering, India.
