  1. Noise is not an issue, what are the strongest fans I could get for my Corsair 550D? I want to replace the 2 front fans for sure, but I think those two are limited to 120MM size fans.
  2. Hi, So I have my new PC built, and I'd like to recycle my old one into a backup PC that will sync data over the network. I was using Microsoft Sync Toy for local backups, but notice it doesn't perform well over the network. I don't mind spending money on a good software ($50-80), can you guys recommend some good ones? I'm looking for very friendly and easy to use interface, that can create jobs between drives, example: C to X, and D to Y (X & Y being a mapped network drives). Automated jobs are not necessary, I'd like to manually run them once or twice a month. Thank you.
  3. Get a more reliable brand & model. I only use Logisys for budget PC builds because they come free with cases. I would never use one of them in a gaming build.
  4. Hi, I read the Corsair 550D case supports most 240MM Radiators so I had originally planned to get H100I cooler. But if it could fit the H110IGT, I'd prefer to spend the extra money. Does anyone know if it'll fit for certain? Thank you.
  5. And it's a life time license, if you did want to spend your money, it's absolutely worth the investment. Edit: Oh, I guess they changed that. I bought it several years ago and mine's a life time.
  6. Beautiful! I'm most likely going to get one 6TB WD Black anyway, because I had intended to create a 1TB partition for games that does not need to be on the SSD. But additional storage will be all WD Reds, thank you for your assistance everyone & happy 2016!
  7. I have the Corsair Obsidian Series 550D Quiet Mid-Tower Case
  8. Yeah it's going to be 24/7, runs for everyone in the home and everyone has different sleep patterns, some people are up all night. I originally wanted WD Red, but was warned by a computer tech at a local store that said: Also please note that you’ll want to choose a case with shock-mounted hard drive bays as the Red series does produce more vibration than their enterprise-class storage drives. This is quite common, but something you should check when you’re looking for case. I already have a case prior to him saying this - how much truth is there to this? I'm just concerned for failure. Thank you.
  9. Hi, I'm looking at getting either of these drives: Seagate ST8000AS0002 8TB 5900RPM Western Digital WD6001FZWX Black 6TB I heard the archive drive should be fine, but I thought these were for NAS machines. Would it be alright if I connected it to a normal motherboard's SATA port and ran it as a media server? So all files, including large video files can be accessed through the network by multiple machines including the PC that its hosted on. As long as there's no performance disruption, it shouldn't be an issue. I originally wanted the Black drive for the higher performance so nothing lags. Thank you.
  10. The 6700k will do just fine until 2017 when I build another. If there isn't any ASUS Z170 motherboards with 10 sata ports, I would appreciate some affordable PCI-E expansion cards recommendations.
  11. I prefer to get the 6700k for gaming, the machine isn't solely a media server. Can you please recommend some? The ones I've looked up so far really turns me away from using them.
  12. And I read negative customer support issues with Gigabyte, so I'd prefer to avoid Gigabyte. I've never had a failure issue with ASUS, and would prefer to stick by it for preference. I'll be installing two SSDs and five HDDs, so right off the bat 7/8 SATA ports are used, leaving only 1 for future expansion. So I disagree that 8 is enough.
  13. I just prefer ASUS, and I'm running my PC as a media server. I won't need 10 right away, but I'd like to plan ahead for the next few years in case expansions are necessary. I read a fair bit of negative issues with PCI-E RAID Cards, and they can be extremely pricey for some decent ones. So an extra 2 built-in could be fairly important.
  14. Hi, I know these will have 10: ASRock Z170 EXTREME7+ GIGABYTE Z170X Gaming G1 But does anyone know if any ASUS Z170 motherboard will? I thought the ASUS Z170-DELUXE did, but I only see 8. Thank you.
  15. No I'm in Canada, I was originally told I shouldn't shop for such a high UPS because it'll never be needed, but better safe than sorry I guess. I'll look for a higher Thanks!
