  1. I have a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Fx in my PC and have had it for nearly three years. I booted up my PC today and noticed that both my microphone and my speakers that are connected via the card were missing. I went to device manager and the soundcard is not found there. There are no "warning" messages telling me about a possible driver issue or anything. I cannot install drivers because Windows tells me my soundcard does not exist. Funny enough, just last week my friend had the exact same issue. The card was nowhere to be found in Windows. Has this happened to anyone else?
  2. Which is precisely why it isn't intended to be used on top of an IHS as the majority of cooler bases are not plated.
  3. https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-X-CODE/HelpDesk_Download/ They are compatible, you will need to update to BIOS 1602, 1704, or 1801 before installing the 9th series CPU you pick.
  4. It's great if it works, but I've never had any luck. Manually entering timings and voltage only takes a couple minutes. Then you get curious and lower the timings and end up with better performance than with XMP anyways.
  5. Set Windows performance mode to Balanced. Running at high performance keeps the CPU at full base clock.
  6. I've got my delidded 6700k plopped into the motherboard with no adhesive and so the CPU clamping arm is holding everything together so I highly doubt it's an alignment in the socket or pressure issue. Take it out and show us the exposed die and underside of IHS.
  7. I think you have a ground loop. Either your house's wiring is not properly grounded to the main ground, or you simply do not have a ground wire in your outlet. That sound clip is an octave of 60Hz which is what the AC power coming from the wall is. The rear audio outputs are near all USB and so they are more prone to interference that you are hearing. I bet if you move your mouse you will actually be able to hear the sound of the static change. Go on Amazon and buy a ground loop isolator. Put it between your headset cable and the motherboard output. They able to nearly fully eliminate the static noise you're hearing. If it doesn't solve your problem, you might have a different issue. They're like 10 bucks or even cheaper. https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Ground-Isolator-Stereo-System/dp/B019393MV2/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1549285675&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=ground+loop+isolators&dpPl=1&dpID=41muoMylGtL&ref=plSrch You might need two (one for headphones, one for microphone) since yours terminates to separate plugs (do a quick mic recording to see if it's in your mic recording too), but just buy one to see if it solves the issue. Good luck.
  8. I'm running my delidded 6700k at 4.6 @ 1.3V. I don't recommend your voltage for Z170, and also the benefit of 4.8 is negligible for what you're risking. My temps during AIDA 64 CPU/Mem/FPU never go above 55C during hot summer days with my CLC 280.
