Do i need winsdows server 2022 OS?
-
Hello everyone, I'm brand new to building a DIY NAS and I'm unsure which OS is best for my needs. That's why I'm asking you. I have an old spare PC and I want to use it to stream media on my own network. Currently, I have a 2TB HDD and a 120GB SSD boot drive installed. In the future, I'd like to add 4x 8TB drives so I can stream movies, series, and music. To keep electricity costs down, I want to shut down my NAS when it's not in use. I'll need Plex for streaming since I use a Samsung TV. Which OS should I use for this purpose?

NEED HELP - streaming with 'PLEX' from home server

sorry, English in not my native language. post is edited. i mean when i restart my server. -
I am very new with this. I have set up a home server at home using 'TrueNAS' as the operating system (this is an old PC that I had lying around). This home server is used to stream movies, series, and music to my TV and laptops. I use 'PLEX' for this purpose. When I installed TrueNAS, set up movies, and installed Plex, I could stream everything perfectly to my laptops and TV. I don't use my server every day, and to save power, I turn off my server. However, when I want to stream movies via 'PLEX,' 'PLEX' can no longer find my server. Is there a way to use PLEX after the server has restarted? server is directly connected to my router. Thank you in advance.

i have 2 gpus in my pc that both work my main gpu is for my main monitor is a RTX 2070 and the other is a gtx 650ti (boost) i use the GTX650ti for a 2nd monitor. what the problem is now, when i want to update the drivers it does not recognize the GTX 650ti boost anymore. in device manager i get an error message: This device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) The I/O device is incorrectly configured or the driver configuration data is incorrect. and when i uninstall the gpu gtx650 ti boost in the device manager it does work. but then envidia says there are new updates and then i start again. I don't really have problems with the out date drivers but can't play every game without the new updates. what can i do thank you in advance
