Con reacted to VIVO-US in How do you bind acrylic sheets at 90 degree angles?
90 degree angle brackets or blocks with threaded screw inserts may be the simplest and most effective way to do this.  That's how SunbeamTech used to make their acrylic PC case kits, and it seems to have worked well since I've never heard of one falling apart.

Go to the automotive store, look at their wall of hose clamps and spiggots. That's exactly how computer watercooling started back in the day. I have fond memories of super jank watercooling. Enjoy the ride.

As for measuring, just get a set of cheap calipers.

I took apart my Corsair H115i and spliced a GPU in to the loop, with a small reservoir.
It worked well, but the pump had to run at max rpm all the time to keep the flow going.
I used soft tubing and fittings made for the tubing.

NVMe is still expensive and won't benefit you in this case. If I remember correctly they have high sequential speeds, making them ideal for transferring large files, but about average random speeds which is the more everyday workload.

its gonna be little off topic and im not sure if things changed since 2012 but I remember PS3 having maximum drive capacity limit around 2tb because of fat32 (and formatting required for ps3 to recognise the drive)

yyes you should be. Just turn up the power limit and you will see higher clocks out of the box if you ramp up the fans a bit. The Xtreme just has a slightly better cooler if am not mistaken. Just do a bit of overclocking. I just ordered the exact same card today and i can ell you my results if you want when i have it next week hopefully

Con reacted to PineyCreek in What qualifications or experience should I have to begin a technical career in computing?
You need an entry-level job in support or work in a shop building computers, or a service division (ex. Best Buy Geek Squad (shudder)), or be able to show knowledge from hobby-level endeavors if they take that into account.  My first job was working at Dell technical support in escalations.  It involved networking (the people version) at job fairs, taking onsite-placement tests, etc.  Having certifications also will help you, sometimes as much as a degree or more with certain technical jobs.  Barebones basic certs like A+ and Network+.  CCNAs are good to have too but loads of people have them.  Certifications that people can verify show at least you have a certain knowledge set and will make you more attractive to technical recruiters.  Most job resume algorithms are going to be searching for keywords like that.  You can also use LinkedIn, and pepper your job or hobby history with keywords like for example, CCNA, A+, computer, customer server, technical support, networking, Cisco, ASA, IPS, etc.

Also, always have a couple of good questions to ask the interviewer, like, from your perspective, what do you think makes a person successful in this job role?  Always show you've researched the company.

It comes with an Optical Output (or you can use ARC), not an Optical Input. The Output is supposed to go to a decoder (the decoder can hookup to your amplified speaker set).

Might be a little hard to get anything smaller than 4GB these days unless it's new old stock but Sandisk cards are considered to be some of the best, I've have a few of those that have been running for multiple years without issue.

Con reacted to Electronics Wizardy in Will a 1066MHz FSB CPU work in a 800MHz socket for LGA775?
IIts using the g41 express chipset, which supports up to the 1330 fsb. So it might work

If you have the cpu, id check it and it won't do any harm trying.

I might not work with that cpu as its a older chip(2006) and this system is a late lga 775 system(2009).

A e8400 should be a good bet for that system.

A cpu won't make a big difference in the speed of the pc. You much better off geting more ram and a ssd, and maybe a sandy bridge or newer cpu sometime later
