fun. I've got so much spare hardware I could build some retro boxes. got a 9800GTX+, 5750, 660ti or a 970. with my choice of core 2 duo, quad or a 6600k systems. I don't have enough DDR2 though
biggest issue, not enough PSUs, cases or storage drives.

Yeah that’s a problem

@sub68 Windows XP is what gives me severe nostalgia.
@GDRRiley DDR2 RAM is a big problem, and i lot of sticks i bought, although advertised to run at 800 MHz seemed to only run well at 667 MHz. I have a 9800GT 1gb lying around, but the fan died. So i Jerryrigged an 80mm fan onto it. Also multirail PSUs from that era die really quickly. What really annoys me though, is those PCI cards that malfunction and give you a headache during troubleshooting. (especially fast Ethernet NICs, or stupid modems)

I got a few 2gb stick but I did kill 4 of them a few years back so now I don't have enough DDR2 overall.

@GDRRiley Unplugging them while the system is running eh ?
I did that, yes shame on me but it took 10 times for the ram stick to die.

@GDRRiley Yeah, condensation is such a big problem when you go sub zero. Miss the days when OCing was actually worth the time and effort.
-
@GDRRiley wait what ?
-
I was all fine and then when I went to restart to change settings windows update happend. this was 3 years ago so it was before it was easy to turn it off. it took 2 hours to do and in that time water condensed and screwed it.
-
@GDRRiley That's brutal.... windows always likes to update at the worst time possible. One day it updated when i was testing a CPU bareback (no TIM), especially due to how fast NVMe SSD boot times are.
