  1. I'm thinking the Be Quiet one would be nice. It's on the tier list as A and it's seems to be the one of the more reasonably priced one. So a 1000w psu will guarantee that there won't be any problems with the 3090 right? Does it matter if it's multi-rail or single? Is there one that's preferred over the other?
  2. Is this a good power supply for it? https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-heatsinks-Axial-tech-Technology-Certification/dp/B08X7BKLWS
  3. I currently have the seasonic USA prime 750W 80+titanium power supply. Would it be enough to power the 3090? My rig also has a 5900x in it. I won't be overclocking either of those, maybe undervolt the gpu though.
  4. The cheapest option at 200 Mbps. Is this all I need? Just get one of these and then just plug it into the wall and I'm finished?

    Router

Hello I got Verizon Fios and I would like to buy a router to not pay the rental fee. I only have internet and nothing else and the current router only has an ethernet cable going into the wan port from the box they installed outside. I would like some recommendations as well as other equipment I may need. The place isn't very big and is only one floor. Location is US and budget I'm not too sure since I don't really know how much I should be paying for a basic router. But nothing too crazy please. Thank you.
  6. They're not going to be playing games on it so I don't think I'll ever need to get a gpu for them.
  7. Budget (including currency): ~$500 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Almost exclusively web-browsing and streaming. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I was going to a local store to pick up a 3200G it's on sale for $100 bucks. They'd like it to be small so I was going to build them a mini-ITX build. I have the case picked out and wanted recommendations for things like the mobo, ram, and power supply. Thank you. 8. Hmm in that case I think I'll keep the Schiits in mind but hold off on getting anything for now. Thank you for the help.
  9. I have my headphones plugged into the headphone jack on the back of my mobo. Would a sound card also be something I could look into?
  10. I am looking for recommendations on a good DAC. I own a pair of sennheiser hd 58x. My budget would be no more than $100 and I am located in the US. Thank you.
  11. That's one reason but also the fact you're spinning rgb keyboard as a selling point and the fact it's "easily" upgradable. I've never seen a non-mac laptop that you couldn't get into with a screw driver.
  12. Hello so I went looking at some local stores yesterday and I was thinking of waiting and trying to raise the budget. Is there any general advice for buying a gaming laptop like terms of what to look for in gpu and cpu? Is there a significant difference between the 2070 and 2070s in a laptop and is a 2080s worth it in a laptop? Any particular brands or models to avoid due to cooling issues or anything like that? I'll be looking into it myself as well I was just wondering if you had quick answers to any of these off the top of your head.
  13. Those look good. Do you know if laptop prices are also inflated like GPU prices right now? Will they come back down later or have they stayed the same mostly?
  14. Hello I am looking for laptop recommendations. I am located in the US. The budget is $2000 max. It'll mostly be used for web-browsing and gaming. Mostly for fighting games but it'd be nice if it could run Cyberpunk decently as well. Thank you.
  15. I'm okay with spending more if it's better quality. Also I couldn't care less what color the cooler was or how the inside looks.
  16. Thanks for the recommendation. So I should go with 4 sticks for ram? Also is the case okay? I thought the NZXT ones had bad air flow. I won't be water cooling ever or using aios btw.
  17. Do you have any recommendations for a better mobo? I'm just going off the tier list on the forum so any insight would be helpful. I'm open to case suggestions as well. I'd prefer white though. I was also looking at this but I've read the cooler master one had better air flow.
  18. Budget (including currency): $2500 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games: Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, Witcher 3, Final Fantasy 15, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Minecraft, Monster Hunter World, Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Apps: OBS, GIMP, OpenShot, Discord, Clip Studio Paint Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I already have ssds for storage. I will be using this PC for streaming, video editing, and photo editing, and drawing. I will not be needing any peripherals. I'd like to run my games at 1440p at around 100 fps. I'd like to move up to 4k a little later when there are more options for monitors and I'd like to have at least 60 fps for 4k. I am not set on the GPU. I will be buying whatever I can get my hands on between the 3080 and 6800 xt. I would prefer to go Nvideo for the nvenc encoder though. I would like recommendations on which partner cards are the best for GPUS though since I'll be trying to buy whatever I can get my hands on at the local store. I would also like some advice on memory. I'd like to go 32gb and wanted to know whether I should do 4 sticks or 2 sticks. If someone could explain to me what single rank and dual rank are and why one is preferred or the other that'd be great as well. Edit: I've neglected to put a power supply because I am unsure what to get. If possible I'd like several recommendations that fit the budget and need since I will be trying to get them at my local store if possible. I will buy online however if the options are better, which they most likely are. 19. @AndrewZScorpion @lee32uk So then do timings not matter that much? I'm fine not getting these. I mostly picked these cause they were one of the few on B-die finder that were also 32 GBs on 2 sticks. Also do would prices stay low till around black Friday or is it better to just buy now? Would 3600MHz be good for Zen 3 or should I consider going higher?
  20. The timing is a bit different. That one is 16-19-19-39. I chose the one that was linked because it was Samsung B-die at least according to B-die finder. I also had this in mind but it was a $15 difference so I just chose the more fancy looking one. I'll use my PC for gaming and photo and video editing. edit: Or does the timing and B-die not make a significant difference?
  21. I'm thinking of taking advantage of falling RAM prices to upgrade. I was looking at this 3600 MHz with 16-16-16-36 timing I wanted this for when I upgrade to Zen 3 Ryzen later this year. Thank you.
  22. Neat! I have a Ryzen CPU and I'm thinking of upgrading to Zen 3 when it comes out. Should I try and buy something with 4000 MHz or will 3600 MHz be enough?
  23. I don't need it immediately but I was planning on building a new PC later this year once the RTX 3000 stocks stabilize and possibly Zen 3 CPUs come out. I was thinking of buying ram now though cause I was seeing a lot of discounts. I'm mostly worried about them going back up in price around November or December.
