So here's the thing.
I have this really old computer running an Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 along with 4GB DDR2 ram. The OG 230 GB hdd decided to conk off a couple of days ago, so I replaced it with a Seagate 1TB 7200 rpm drive. Now the thing is, read and write speeds are abysmally slow. Booting into Windows, running programs work fine. But if I plug in a external drive, or even attempt to install something off of the hdd itself, it takes FOREVER. In fact, yesterday I tried to copy some files from my external drive and I barely even got 1 mBps transfer speeds. The same external drive works fine on other pcs, by the way.
What is kind of weird is that HDD Sentinel reports 100% health, but performance is only at about 75%.
I should also mention that I did a BSOD within 2 hours of installing the hdd. But there hasn't been any such instance after that.
Any help would be really appreciated!?
