The AOC 24G2 is a 1920x1080, 144 Hz, IPS monitor that left good impressions for those who were able to get it. It just came back in stock on Amazon and on Overclockers UK. In the US, it's currently the same price as the Acer XFA240 bmjdpr you linked. Hopefully the 24G2 doesn't go out of stock by the time either of you read this. Never mind on Overclockers UK. As I was typing this, I checked and it's out of stock.

    US Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/AOC-24G2-Frameless-Adjustable-Guarantee/dp/B07WVN6CWT/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8.

Problem is that I don't know if OP, @JoeyThePixelGuy, plays a lot of shooters or is really into competitive games. Rainbow Six Siege and The Outer Worlds were mentioned where both are FPS games and Siege is a competitive game and it makes me wonder if maybe you'd want a TN monitor for the lowest possible responsible time.

Edit: The AOC 24G2 is out of stock on Amazon. It was in stock for a day or two.

Do you live in the US? Maybe this applies in other countries as well. That particular model drops down to $99.99 on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and probably other holiday sales. Good luck trying to nab one, though.

Considering it's usually $150 when not on sale and there are other 1920x1080, 144 Hz monitors that are TN, VA, and even IPS panel when they are available like the AOC 24G2, maybe consider looking around for other models.

Of the five monitors, the LG 24GL600F is the cheapest at $129.00 at BHPhotoVideo: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1457453-REG/lg_24gl600f_b_24_class_full_hd.html.

The Asus VG258Q is the most expensive one at $275.32 new on Amazon. There is a very good used offer, but it's missing a power cord.

Of those five, rtings has reviewed three of them, the BenQ, LG, and the ViewSonic XG2402 where the BenQ and ViewSonic XG2402 are selling at a higher price. The BenQ is $199.99 on Amazon while the XG2402 is $239.99 new from Amazon, but you can get a like new, so probably open box, from ViewSonic through Amazon for $179.99. It looks like the BenQ doesn't support Freesync or G-Sync and it seems to be older than the other two here. Amazon said it was first available on June 28, 2016 whereas the LG was available on February 1, 2019 and the ViewSonic XG2402 was available on September 1, 2017. Relatively, a new monitor is not always going to be better than an older one, but it seems like the BenQ is old enough that it's missing some things that monitors newer than it or have higher specs than it have.

Here's a comparison of the BenQ and the ViewSonic XG2402, though: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/viewsonic-xg2402-vs-benq-xl2411p/692/1580. Kind of similar, particularly with input lag, but the BenQ doesn't seem to be as good.

Between the LG and the ViewSonic XG2402, the XG2402 has better input lag: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/viewsonic-xg2402-vs-lg-24gl600f/692/909.

The ViewSonic XG240R seems similar to the XG2402, but it looks like it's aimed at gamers at least aesthetically and with some features like a blue light filter: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/ce3zbn/monitor_viewsonic_elite_xg240r_24_inch_1080p_1ms/.

The more interesting thing is that it's cheaper than the XG2402 at $233.99 new and there's a like new offer from Amazon Warehouse for $176.89 with a 20% discount at checkout, so it's like $141.51 before taxes and shipping. That seems pretty good in my opinion as if it's like the XG2402, then it's better than the LG and priced at $12.51 more if you're okay with a buying a used like new, an open box.

Here's the response time, input lag, and motion blur section of its review on TechPowerUp: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/viewsonic-elite-xg240r/7.html. Different sites have different methodologies, so do take that in consideration when you see the numbers. Looks similar to the XG2402, though.

Anyway, they're all TN panels which I have heard is good for gamers who want as low of a response time. What is your budget, what's your system specifications, and have you considered 165 Hz to 240 Hz?

For 165 Hz to 240 Hz, if you can drive it with your system, for whatever games you're playing, and have the budget for it, maybe it would be okay. I say this since stuff on 144 Hz and 240 Hz I'm not really knowledgeable on. The ViewSonic XG2530 is a 1920x1080 240 Hz monitor that is priced at $279.99 new on Amazon, but through Amazon, ViewSonic is selling a used, like new for $209.99.

Amazon has the Acer XF250Q Cbmiiprx for $219.99, but I think it might have been on sale for less the past day or two.

If you live near a Microcenter, then you can pick up the 240 Hz model of the KG251Q for $209.99: https://www.microcenter.com/product/510224/acer-kg251q-245-full-hd-240hz-hdmi-dp-freesync-led-gaming-monitor. @Mick Naughty has a similar monitor. I'm not sure if it's the exact model, but it is a 1920x1080, 240 Hz monitor.

Here's some other monitors you could check out: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#F=381000000,736600000&D=165000,240000&G=400000000000,8000000000000&i=50&A=3,2&sort=price&X=0,41249&r=192001080&P=1.

Everything arrived today and I built my first computer. Once again, thank you, @brob, @Cereal5, @LukeSavenije, and @Stefan Payne.

The scariest thing was when a standoff got stuck and I thought I stripped it or the screw. Turns out in my excitement, I used the wrong screws to install the motherboard. I used the screwed labeled as drive screws which I'm guessing is for a 3.5" drive instead of the motherboard screws. I should have noticed something when the screws were much longer than the standoffs. Fortunately, I was able to get the standoff off after looking up how to by holding it with pliers and screwing the wrong, drive screw off. Since it wasn't going into the standoff hole anymore, I swapped it out with one that didn't get messed up and it worked along with installing the correct screws for the motherboard. And more fortunately, nothing went wrong.

Now to figure out cable management. I think I could just smush the cables in the back after plugging in the SATA power cable to the 2.5" HDD. I didn't plug it in just to make sure that Windows 10 would install into the SSD. Well, to make sure I didn't screw up by picking the wrong drive in some way. The Bitfenix PSU only gave me right angle SATA power cables which I guess is normal? It made it so I couldn't install the SSD to the back of the Meshify since I couldn't plug in the power cable. It's fine but now the 3.5" drive trays are all busy with other cables.

I am typing this on my laptop, so, no I'm not being too eager and using the new PC right away. I'm having it update while typing this.

There is still one mystery and that is a piece of plastic broke off somewhere. I have no idea where it came from and it hasn't been impacting anything. It happened while I was installing the motherboard, so it's probably something from the case.

Well, an arm should be about a third - maybe - of a human since a human wingspan is close to being the height. Let's see, a Linus body length should be equal to 3 Linus arm lengths and I'm not going to convert that to feet, inches, yards, metres, centimetres, or Slick hand lengths.

I don't know about Canada, but in France, they make you choose a name from a list for a first name which is good since it prevents names like L-a (La-das-ah), Abcde (abs-suh-dee), and Meconium - have fun googling this shit -, however, it does prevent people of other ethnic groups from naming their children with their ethnic names like an Irish family can't name their daughter Saoirse or a Middle Eastern family cannot name their son Hassan or a Japanese family cannot name their daughter Hana.

In general, though, some groups just go with the flow. Some immigrants might name their children with "American" names like John, Jackie, or George as a way to say they have a new beginning or to make it easier for the majority of people speaking English to say their name. It's easier to name a kid Robert than say, Jamal. Many people will be unfamiliar with Jamal and would mispronounce it like "Jam-el" or something. Hell, people have trouble with Edinburgh (Ed-in-ber-ah), Scotland. So, they'll have an "American" name as their first name while at home, they'll have a "family" name which might not be official or is a middle name. So, a James Kazuhiro Takeda would be called James, Jim, or Jimmy in school and such, while at home he's called Kazuhiro or Kaz, but since Japanese is generally read phonetically, the parents could just call him Kazuhiro Takeda and he could be called Kaz by everyone which might be easier to say instead of Kazuhiro for some. It's complicated.

Anyway, Yvonne could be her "Canadian" name and she could have a family name that her parents and relatives call her.

I had something close to this. My father bought it from the place where he worked; they were probably upgrading to better PCs at the time. Man, was this thing like magic when it was there - just like the NES and N64 I had.

I think it was a Windows 95 PC and I remember using dial-up on this thing and playing Everquest which I didn't understand a thing about and my father ended up having to cancel the subscription over mail or phone. It was also how my father ended up learning stuff about computers. He opened it up, learned basic things about what does what, stuff like that - remember, this was the age before high-speed internet. Me, I learned through "newer" PCs and through the web. Funny how he was self-taught in many things; certain instruments like the mandolin and guitar, computers, automobiles. Basic knowledge, but knowledge nevertheless.

Yvonne, Yves, and Yvette along with other like names are French. Considering that Québec used to belong to France and that they probably migrated around in Canada, I wouldn't be surprised that people have French names there.
