  1. This is my first time seeing one of these suitcase computers. Do any of you have links to ones that are somewhat useable?
  2. Thanks lol. It's been so long since I have build a pc I kinda forgot. I assumed it came with the cpu. That solves my problem because I will have to get a new motherboard for the second pc anyway.
  3. So my current pc has a 5600x in it. My plan is to buy a 5800x3D, and then use the 5600x for a second pc. But here is my issue, the cpu cooler I just bought tells me to use the original amd backplate that came with the stock cooler. From what I have heard, cpu's these days don't come with a stock cooler anymore. Does this mean that I have to buy the backplate separately?
  4. Yep, that's just regular water in Germany. Idk why it's so expensive in Canada.
  5. Hey, so I have a 5600x paired with a RX 6800 XT and I have noticed that in task manager, my gpu usage sits around 0-5% during Premiere and After Effects. Is this normal? Because I always assumed that some of the work would be shifted towards the gpu. Is this a amd thing? Like would this be different if I had a nvidia gpu? Yes hardware accel is turned on. In After Effects I like to work with the roto brush to remove backgrounds, and my cpu is struggling with that a lot. If I want more performance, do I have to upgrade my cpu?
  6. Alex Potvin and Tim Holowachuk left ltt. Hope they didn't leave because of the changes.
  7. 12 days since we had a LTT main channel video, this really sucks. I need more LTT content. The quality was fine.
  8. Isn't the week over yet? Why are there no new LTT videos yet? I hope not. I like the other hosts, but Linus gives those videos that special touch. He was away for a while before and the rest of the staff hosted videos during that time. And you can feel like missing Linus touch.
  9. rewatching this video right now, am 5 minutes in. What was so bad about this video that it had to be unlisted?
  10. Yep, this is the true unethical behavior. No other tech channel has the same vibe.
  11. I am living in Germany and we have 42 sick days (full pay) on top of a minimum of 20 days off (paid). The company I work at gives us 29 days off. Using sick days when you are not really sick is in my opinion not a nice thing to do.
  12. So in general I support workers right, but you have to do your job. And the fact that she desperately wanted days off from work could indicated that this was not the right job for her. I had my last sick day last year in like February or something like that, and it was due to vaccine taking me down. In general I think people use sick days too often.
  13. Well I always liked how the tech youtubers held together, and how there was little to no drama between them. I see nothing wrong with GN's video. They are journalists and LTT is a veeeeery big company by now. There is in my opinion nothing wrong with calling them out when they make a mistake. In my opinion, the right thing to do, is to accept/admit your mistake and fix it. Without hating the other side. Steve said that he didn't contact Linus first because he suspected that he would try to weasel his way out of this, and that is in my opinion a valid reason. And I say this as a Linus fanboy who is upset about the video break. I am watching almost all of their videos while rarely watching GN videos.
  14. While I am fully behind LTT, I also think that it is important that LTT makes up with GamersNexus and Steve specifically. They just did their job and nothing about it was unprofessional.
  15. I mean, 69 is barely a sex joke these days with how mainstream it is.
  16. Emily seems to be doing fine. And haven't heard any complaints from Sarah either. Are you trying to force them to take a stance against LMG?
  17. It can be a genuine apology and make money at the same time, which is the reasonably thing to do as a business in my opinion. Linus invested so much money in this lab for a reason. They want to deliver accurate data. They may have failed to do so until now but I am sure it would have changed in the future. It's not easy to structure such a big company. Linus has shown his Integrity a lot in the past by firing bad sponsors and being very transparent. Because of that I believe him when he says that didn't mean any harm. I am not blaming everyone here. Linus was always very open to criticism in the past and I think he handles the situation very well. I brought up "bad faith" because both this forum, and the LTT sub is full of posts by new members, who I am assume are not fans to begin with and enjoy seeing Linus burn. People have accused Linus of being a Nvidia and Apple shill in the past when he is clearly not. If you watched a lot of his content, you know that he is not and has called out both of these companies a lot. This is why I assume that some of the criticism is made by people who don't like him in the first place, with the intention of driving new fans away. I believe that this was about to change with the new CEO hire. Right now They have to work extra hard to bring back some of the money they invested into the labs. Linus has always been very transparent about his position with Framework and always discloses his investment when he reviews their products. He also reviewed alternatives to framework in a transparent way. Additionally, Linus does not own any AMD or Nvidia shares to be able to stay neutral, despite knowing that those would skyrocket. I see no ethical issues here at all and believe that Linus is able to objectively review laptops and fans. He did admit when he was wrong in the past, like with the warranty issues they had with their store. Took him a while because he was of the opinion that he earned our trust, but he did end up admitting that he was wrong.
  18. I don't see anything offensive about monetizing the video. They are running a business, they have costs to cover. I think it is immature and hostile to demand they do not monetize it. I disagree. I was happy that this video still had the LTT vibe. I personally think that this is blown out of proportion, and a lot of criticism is made out of bad faith. In my opinion, a lot of people who personally dislike Linus are using this situation to harm him. Which ones? The major complains are the water block, the mouse thing and the wrong graphs. They addressed those issues.
  19. And I always loved WAN show because of that. He does not only share his very valuable experiences, but also his mental health status, which can be kinda therapeutic to others. At least to me it is. While I do agree that a little vacation for a month like that would do him good, I am also worried that this will negatively affect LTT videos. If I remember correctly, there was a time when he was off for a while and during this time the others hosted videos. And I remember not being a huge fan of those videos because they lacked this special something that Linus adds to the videos. And besides that, I think Linus himself knows that he needs a break and maybe that's why they hired the new CEO. Maybe a week or month off was already in the planning. I still think that he is a likeable person. But I am also a person who grinds a lot at work. Haven't used a sick day since Feb 2022 and that one was related to the vaccine.
  20. The way I see it there is a lot of pressure on Linus. He has to run a big company and he has to make sure it stays afloat so that he can continue to pay his employees. This is a lot of pressure, and under pressure like that people sometimes do mistakes they normally wouldn't do. The waterblock thing was a big mistake, but I think Linus would have handled it better if he had more time to think about the situation. I am a little worried that Linus is gonna be pushed to the background now in future LTT videos, which I find a little unfair.
  21. Well I hope LTT recovers from this, because I do need my daily LTT videos. And this may sound a little weird, but I kinda like the low quality videos. Was never bothered by wrong data too much, if anything it made the videos more entertaining in my opinion.
  22. So this is the situation, smartphone, a Samsung S22 is being used to take pictures, but the storage is full. The person who uses the phone has no laptop or computer. SD cards are not an option. Are there external hdd/sdd that wirelessly connect to your phone a thing? If yes, has anyone here tried something like that?
  23. Thanks for the recommendation. They are on sale on Amazon.de right now, 112€ each . So just in case the bass is not enough, can you recommend a subwoofer? My room is pretty tiny, don't think I need anything too big.
  24. Yeah so I was told that Klipsch comes with a certain premium price, and I would love to avoid that if possible
