Me and some friends have hosted modded MC servers before using hosting services before but my experience with said hosting has usually been terrible to the point where I've either cancelled the service or just switched hosting.
Now I'm looking to do a more direct approach and try to host an MC server using AWS Lightsail and I'm looking at the 40$ USD tier (8GB RAM, dual core processor, 160GB SSD and 5TB transfer) as it seems to be a fair price.
Does anyone have experience hosting modded MC servers w/Lightsail and can provide me with some insight? Does this work well, is the SSH management as flexible as it seems, is the 2 cores going to be enough for hosting a large-scale modpack with several players, etc.
I'm not really familiar with Linux so if anyone wants to recommend a distro I can try for the server I'd appreciate it tons.
Also pardon me if my English's a bit off, it's not my first language so I may have some errors:p
