    Hp z400 2.1ghz with boost 6c12thr l5639. Runs faster than msi x58 boards. Unfortunately it's proprietary. I was able to figure out what the previous owner put the ram in wrong. Just had to move a stick to another slot. Got it for 10 bucks.

    We have reached the point where cores are irrelevant. They'll have to come up with 128bit to justify the continuing improvements. X58 still holds up to a point.

    No, you shouldn't be thinking of making a 4790k build at this point. unless the cpu and board fall into your lap. You should already have had that built for a few years already. Everyone is gonna shove you into the amd corner, and you probably should unless you're concerned about resale value. Amd will never have resale value.

    Bought amd athlon 2300+ and parts from a devout Christian back in 2003. Didn't even get past testing. Mobo was junk. got another one, and the cpu was fine. He sold me the devil's own windows xp bootleg too. Didn't even know until sp1 rolled out. Couldn't install it. Then he came over and installed the sp1 bootleg that let you change your key. When i do computer deals that sloppy bag of crap is stuck in my head.... here's looking at you Bruce Camp. Jerkhole....

    You can get core 2 quad for a great price on Ebay. Always check Intel ark and make sure it has the 12 mb cache. I think i goofed on the e8600 its a 6 mb cache... which is ok. I would not recommend anything less than that. Amd upped the standard on cache.

    If you played doom on snes then you didn't really get to enjoy it. Doom on a port lets you play doom like a modern fps. You just use the wad files. it's pretty fun to do zombie game style servers with other people.. more than 4. When i do csgo its just deathmatch and danger zone, and DZ i play it more as hide and go seek.

    Try Counter Strike:GO. If i don't play that its the original doom games thru the zandronum port. Play online with doom explorer

    Self driving cars are already killing people. Haven't you heard of Steven king's maximum overdrive? Electric cars are the future. Gasoline cars will turn into something only usable over 500 miles.

    Not exactly... If your board can do core 2 quad. E8600 is core 2 duo 12mb cache 3.33ghz. Check the supported cpu list maybe you could run a quad. Modern boards are more open ended now. Older boards don't always handle quad core.

    Easiest thing is to unplug computer and pull the battery. Some have a cmos button. Some have a jumper you have to put on..

    Get an adata brand ssd. It will be fine. Get a cpu with 12mb cache. Try to get closer to 3ghz.

    What else are you using in the build? The psu seems a bit humongous. Could probably save, and put that money in a cpu. Definitely try to get something that didnt doesnt need a update to work unless you get it for a good price.

    The more you build the easier it gets. never looking back at getting scammed by prebuilts. Oem motheroards are even better in bigger cases. You get room to actually use it. Sometimes the sata is put in a bad spot, but thats what right angle plugs are for. Worst case scenario 1 or 2 gets covered, but you should probably be using a raid card anyways.

    Would be a funny one. Gen x punk bands ripped off brands all the time. Ex band no hit wonder: jawbreaker used crap like the morton salt girl. They learned that from boomers.     Spare fans are everything. I'm guilty of going with the cheaper option in general. Also pci slot covers with holes in them cannot be overlooked. Back in the day it was best to leave them off. Circa ati radeon 9700pro.

    Its specifically after initially booting the usb before the wheel spins at the window before the splash of purple. It takes about 30 mins. Everything else is wonderful. You must use raid to get speed. Msi is a bit funky though....
