  1. As mentioned above - I did. Task manager shows 0 use (both in graphs and in "details" view where it shows which GPU is used by exact process). There is no usage. And I know monitoring applications can ping the GPU, therefore I don't installed any of them after my fresh win reinstall to solve this issue.
  2. So I recently got a laptop and instead of advertised 5-8h battery life it barelly squeezing 2. I've noticed dGPU is always on (orange light on power button instead of white). Well, I went down the rabbit hole of the internet and tried everything: selective USB (was gone from windows power profile, so had to unhide it with regedit), installing MSI Center, uninstalling MSI center, DDU graphics drivers, using drivers from MSI site (quite old), using newest drivers, gforce experience installed, uninstalled, whole system reinstall (helped for like a day). Some common ground: GPU is set to hybrid mode; neither task manager nor nvidia control panel is showing any activity on GPU; No hardware monitoring software is running; White light blinks sometimes and goes back to orange; USB selective mode is on; I'm using newest non-insider build of windows 10 pro; Currently installed drivers are the newest ones from both intel and nvidia; In nvidia control panel Integrated GPU is selected as default; In windows settings preferred GPU is set to all the things that auto-start; Light stays orange even when laptop is idling (nothing is running at all); Disabling nvidia GPU in device manager doesn't do shit; Monitor refresh rate is set to 60fps. I've tried everything I could find on the internet, but everything I could find on the internet is nearly a year old and new updates of windows don't have half the switches and toggles (it's possible to bring them back through regedit, but I feel like they do nothing and that's why they are not shown in the first place). Couple ideas and subsequent questions: is it possible to set default GPU to igpu in windows (same way you can do in nvidia control panel)? Is it possible to set GPU to integrated rather than hybrid (either when only on battery or manually without reboot)? Btw, I've also tried windows 11 pro, just to a lesser extent with same results.
  3. Anybody found any solutions?... I have same reconnect hell. Comes at random. Connection otherwise unaffected - game I play doesn't seem to suffer, I even started running ping to 8.8.8.8 just to make sure connection haven't dropped, but that one goes strong at ~30ms constantly before, during and after the drop. I have 1gbps connection, computer wired into switch directly (external IP, no router in between to open ports or something). I have KIS as my firewall and antivirus.
  4. Yeah, I think I figured it out... As I play at 1080p on most of settings on low it doesn't need more GPU. Putting settings to ultra made usage jump to 90-95%. A lot of fuss over nothing.
  5. Okay, on kombustor I find out what's different between standalone and running from afterburner... Afterburner enables artefact scanning, which in turn causes the issue (I can reproduce directly from kombustor if I tick "artifact scanner". A question then - what the freaking hell that artifact scanner does that it throttles the voltage? Also, if I can run a stresstest without running into the issue - why the hell when gaming it runs into the issue? I'm installing 3D Mark and will check what settings might be affecting the thing... Worst case scenario I might just look for vbios to flash into the card. Okay, so after some testing... Running 3DMark maxes out GPU (usage 95-98%) even though it shows VRel limit (together with Pwr limit at some times), while playing PUBG hits same rock as "artifact scanner", maxing out at 55-65%, so it seems very much feature specific... Now if I could only track down which one causes VRel to trip. I've tried disabled AA, GSync and other crap... I might try older drivers after work.
  6. Hi, I have EVGA's GTX1080 and I've been noticing that card is not utilized at 100% under the load (gaming, etc), maxing out at 60% utilization. GPU-Z shows perfcap reason VRel. This also shows up when I run Kombustor directly from MSI Afterburner. Now the weird part... If I run kombustor independently (at what I guess is same preset as Afterburner starts it with) load is 100% and PerfCap becomes either power or temperature, never VRel. Test itself returns almost twice as many frames. Things I've tried: - Global "prefer maximum performance" in nvidia control panel - Overclocking - Underclocking Every single time results are the same. This really grinds my gears, as I see that card can perform almost twice what I'm getting now.
