I'm definitely with Linus on this one (referring to that old WAN show clip about 20TB drives). The imbalance between capacity and speed is getting too big for HDDs this large to be a good choice. You don't want to spend two days rebuilding a failed drive

10 years ago Ive seen a Smart Chip or almost like Credit Card you insert and required to boot up laptop.  I like that better than fingerprint

I've had notebooks in the past and my experience has always been that the "dream laptop" I want never seemed to exist. It was always a compromise somewhere. These days most manufacturers seem to go for thin and light or insane specs and 4K monitors. Best bet would be an external screen.

In case anyone is wondering, this probably means videogames don't work unless gpu manufacturers are all on board with providing good driver support.
 
Can microsoft just stop? Nobody wants their touch screen interface in exchange for actually having the programs you want to run work unambiguously. Why can't they just add better touch screen support to mainline Windows 10? Containers are useful for server applications, for regular use it's just pointless.

If you are not going to game, these monitors all suck.  I sawapped out my 12 year old LCD for new IPS to play games.  The only problem is the IPS sucks for Photoshop and other applications.

gtx 1050 ti vs 1660 ti is only +141% difference and not worth any upgrade.   You want over 300% performance difference when upgrading.

My experience is some games make the GPU run hotter than others.    All I know is Battlefield V runs much hotter near 85 than compared to Quake Champions.
 
I've been playing tons of Division 2 and have not bothered looking at temps and benchmarks.  Too busy having fun with game.
