  1. So I have decided to just save up and upgrade at this point. From what I have researched and read here Im going to end up paying a premium price plus shipping for a board that matches and its just not worth it. Here's what I'm thinking - Intel I5 9600K - MSI H370 Bazooka - 8GB HyperX Predator 3200MHz I have an AIO cooler for the CPU so a cooler isn't an issue. I also realize that it isn't a lot of RAM but that's what I can get at the moment, I will buy another 8GB module later. This system will be fitted with a MSI GTX 1060 6GB Armour OC Edition Oh and I guess I should let you know what I use my PC for so you can give me advice if any. I play games like GTA 5, Fallout 4, Skyrim (Heavily modded) and PUBG among others. I also record, produce and mix music using a mixture of Audacity and Fruity Loops and maybe once in a while I edit short videos, nothing too serious. If you have any suggestions then please let me know.
  2. Yeah its just not worth the price. Might have to just save up a bit and do an upgrade. I should just bite the bullet to honest.
  3. I could be wrong about the board, truth is it has ended up in pile of broken motherboards, but you are correct the CPU is 1155, so any board with that socket should do, just hard getting hold of one.
  4. Hi there. I was given a motherboard, CPU and RAM a few years ago by a friend of mine. The mother board is a Intel DH87MC and the CPU is a I7 3770 (non K). It worked well for some time but I ran into some problems recently which progressively got worse until the motherboard essentially died. The problems were as follows: - Random restarts. - Restart loops. - Ram not being recognized. - Blue screens for various problems. - On board Bios Error LED screen would often show codes for Ram issues but also a good couple codes that Intel hadn't even assigned yet. - Graphics card issues (GTX 1060 6GB) These were often resolved with a wiggle of the GPU or it would resolve itself eventually. I did read up on this particular motherboard and found that it essentially gets every problem imaginable and that it was one of the worst motherboards Intel had released because of this. My question though is not about how to fix it, at this point I believe it is a lost cause, it will no longer boot up. I want to know where I can find a replacement, I need a 3rd Gen board with 4 RAM Slots and I wish to know where I could purchase such a thing. I also want to make it clear that I live in South Africa so I am aware that posting on this forum based in Canada may be futile but it is worth the try for me. The I7 3770 works well for me and I cannot afford to upgrade my PC at this point in time. If anyone has any solutions or knows of any international or South African sites/stores that can source older tech then please let me know. I am open to suggestions and if anyone has any recommendations for a replacement board then I would love to know. Also this is like my first real post so forgive me if I have made any mistakes.
  5. The idea of you or someone trying to fire a gun at your PC from above is an amusing thought to me. Anyway, nice work. Looks interesting and if it works then it works.
  6. This image, does things to me. I love it, its so subtle and so clean. Congrats!
  7. The piece of acrylic would do just as well, didn't think of that. I have a friend who owns a 3D printer, so my first reaction to everything is "Just 3D print the thing!" Give that GPU a test, I'm interested to see the results. I'm sure the others on the thread are interested as well. I thought there might have been some ventilation under the GPU, glad to hear it. Good job on the OC, overclocking is always stressful for me. The carbonout should help a lot, hope it works out. As for your power solution, what and excellent work around, thinking outside the box there, well played. Good Luck with the rest of the build
  8. Sounds like a nightmare. On the plus side the case looks great, That hard-drive on the wall of the case is a bit of a let down. Maybe you can get someone to 3D print some sort of cover or something for the HDD. I'm also curious about the GPU, does it get enough airflow at the bottom of the case? Such an odd case, but like I said, it still looks good and as we all know, its all about the flashyness.
  9. I'm interested to see how it looks when its done. Love what you did with the motherboard, what a change!
  10. That is looking fantastic! Love your desk design.
  11. - People who pre-order a game then complain when the game is released and its rubbish. - Fortnite... in general. - The effect mining has on the GPU market (Granted this is getting better) - The price of ram! - People who are so focused on their phones that you can't have a decent conversation with them. - RGB mouse pads (Don't get me wrong I am one of 'those' people that like RGB... but why mouse pads?) - Charger cables for devices, these seem to get shorter every year, next year I will have to sit on the floor next to my plug point to charge and use my phone at the same time.
  12. Recently got a NZXT S340 Elite, its an excellent case from my experience and I have a 240mm aio installed. Good case for the price. I have also heard good things about the InWin 303. I wouldn't use the word "light" to describe the S340 Elite though, the tempered glass adds some additional weight. However you can get them in a good variety of colours. That's all the advice I can give hope it helps.
