  1. In commercial breaks on the show I'm watching, my search says this G33 mobo doesn't support Core 2 quads. So unless you found some freak BIOS mentions, I say it won't work. Here is Dell's official list: Intel Pentium Dual-Core 2140 (1.6 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) Intel Pentium Dual-Core 2160 (1.8 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200(2.5 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.8 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 (2.0 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) Wolfdale Core 2 Duo, E5200, 2.5GHz, 2MB, 65W, M0 Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 (1.86 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) 65nm Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 (2.13 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 (2.33 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB) Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB) Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 (2.80 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) Wolfdale Core 2 Duo, E8400, 3.0GHz, 6MB, 1333FSB, 65W, E0 45nm Wolfdale Core 2 Duo, E8500, 3.16GHz, 6MB, 1333FSB, 65W, C0 Wolfdale Core 2 Duo, E8600, 3.33GHz, 6MB, 1333FSB, 65W, E0 Conroe E6850, 3.0G, 4MB, 1333FSB, G0 Conroe E6700, 2.66G, 4MB, 1066FSB, B2 Conroe E6600, 2.4G, 4MB, 1066FSB, B2 Wolfdale E5700 3.0GHz 65W Dual-Core
  2. Have you tried searching on your own first? Dell has the answer...
  3. I used to maintain a PC repair shop in my garage. With the doors and windows closed, my tech bench was fine with outdoor temps down to 12F. I also never lost a customer's computer with the only heat in the place was the roommate's dog farting and the space heater at my feet.
  4. Get a bicycle, live the good life. I ain't healthier than your average 20/30 for nuttin' -signed, 53 yo tech stud.
  5. Looks good but those lights....my eyes!! ?
  6. No, because actual grizzly bears make it and little elves do the delivery. Sheeesh, you guys think you know tech!
  7. Have your mom turn it off for you and right before she makes you breakfast, have her turn it on. Just don't get caught with morning wood. ?
  8. I'm 53 yo and like to stand on the street corner with my pants around my ankles while wearing my OG Galaga tshirt ?
  9. Because on Jan 1st 2021, it will self destruct.
  10. Take parts I can use in my current then sell the rest so I can buy a camera.
  11. I worked for the government after uni then went into retail as a tech with some sales. Now, I freelance with troubleshooting/virus removals but business slows over winter so I got a part time job as a pizza cook.
  12. Woah, so many errors at checkout. I hope the original cashier doesn't get into too much trouble. Usually a high ticket item like that is brought out by supervisor so maybe they'll take the heat.
  13. Nothing wrong with doing that. You might lose any fan speed adjustments if you have software installed for that, otherwise that rear fan will be at 100%.
  14. Well, hopefully somebody has time to research this part from your savage dismantling of the laptop. There was no need to unscrew random parts just to get to thermal pad if you correctly consulted the tear down manual. Browsing, I didn't see it listed as a user replaceable part. Shit creek, you like it? Does the notebook power up? Windows loads? Is there anything it can't do anymore? I'm out ?
  15. Forget the picture, tell me EXACTLY what the numbers/letters are on the chip. There is no such thing as a mystery laptop part.
  16. Something like this opened up aver 10 tears ago in a town near me. Never mind it is the fastest growing city in my state, it was still surrounded by rural/farm land. Not many kids had a way to get to the cafe, probably on weekends with a dropoff from parents. I think it lasted only one year.
  17. How do you not have a keyboard laying around? Did you get rid of your old stuff before building this one? ?
  18. Paid $640 for a $750 valued pc build during 6th gen Intel. My newest games are indie at one year old and 2-3 years old for AAA-ish titles. I am happy with 1080p and "ultra" settings. I don't plan on buying anymore games till I put a dent on my Steam library ?
  19. I haven't seen mention of this but this valuable site is down until hardware issues are fixed. It is a good site to track the lowest prices on tech items or in my case photo stuff.
  20. I take the fine as well since it is cheaper than paying the monthly scam. I am healthy and haven't been to the doctor since I was in high school. I am now 53 years old.
  21. If the mobo is horizontal the graphics card will be fine, stop scaring the lad.
  22. Nothing wrong with that as long as it is not too exposed to cats, fluids (ewww), little siblings, wayward drones, etc. Off the floor and not on a conducting surface while you save up for a case is ok. Oh yeah, keep your body parts out of the spinning fans (fluids again...ewww).
