  1. i think most of the mods him and his friend want to use are just gameplay so none of the crazy graphics mods, ill take a look at this, thanks!
  2. Budget (including currency): $500 (Lower the better) Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft & Rust I am looking for the cheapest option for my child who is only 6 yrs old but currently plays Minecraft on a switch but they want to play on a computer so they can use mods. I don't want something that will be a bad experience but I also don't want to buy something crazy since he is only 6 yrs old.
  3. I would have went AMD but I believe last I checked Plex doesn't support AMD for transcoding. Will definitely need to look into the raid card though, totally forgot about that and not a fan of just relying on software raid.
  4. NAS use: Sample storage for music production & Plex server mainly. Only streaming to 1 tv ever really. CPU: Intel Core i3-10105 Motherboard: Asus Prime B560M-A Micro ATX Memory: 1x 16gb G.Skill Ripjaws V Case: Fractal Design Node 804 MicroATX Power Supply: Corsair RM650 80+ (had to go full or semi modular, hate dealing with non) Storage: I currently have 2x Iron Wolf Pro 10tb drives but would probably extend by 2x more soon.
  5. OS will be Windows 10 or Windows Server 2019 (Already have licensing either way to cover this) Quickbooks I think wants about 2-4gb of ram The reason for not using multiple machines (they currently do that) is they want to free up those machines for actual people. I am not sure if an 8 core CPU would be sufficient and not sure if 32gb or just go 64gb ram. This "server" also does not need to store anything on it, it's just for some users in Oregon to better used their Quickbooks that is sitting on a server in California. This new "Server" would sit right next to the server running Quickbooks currently. I am also considering the build to work for just creating VMs in Hyper-V.
  6. I am doing something a little unconventional but building a PC that will be used as a "Terminal Server". 3-4 users will access this and will only be using Quickbooks on it. Trying to build something under $1200 Any suggestions would be appreciated!
  7. I would also recommend looking into Outline https://getoutline.org/ https://github.com/Jigsaw-Code
