  1. I finally did it, I have it stable at 3.8 ghz. I re- seated the cooler (which was fitted by some one else) and pulled all the power cables, then increased low line calibration and it seems to have worked. I will test 3.9 and 4.0 but i am happy at 3.8. Thanks for everyone's help.
  2. I now have a motherboard q code 8 when I am at 3.6ghz it was working fine.

  4. I think i will have to. FYI the overclock at 3.7 on the old windows failed, it went back to 1.5 ghz. i will re install and report back, Thanks for the help
  5. The original figures are from a fresh install the last one was the SSD from my 4790k build which, the 1700 is to replace it but I still have the old SSD. I will try an overclock on it.
  6. I have tried a different windows 10 install and one core has boosted to 3.7 ghz
  7. Tried a different install of windows 10 and single core in cinebench does shoe 3.7ghz on one core
  8. I cant see anything boosting to 3.7. i am at stock and running cine bench single core. If its helpful the stock single core score on cinebench was only 127 that seems low.

  10. I ran memtest all night with no issues. the ram is 2133

  12. Do you mean if i leave it at default clock. It always runs fine on default clock and manual up to 3.6 ghz however i have not tried to reset the bios, i will do this now.
  13. I have been doing this for two days, the instability occurs if i ether increase voltage or processor speed above 3.6 ghz
  14. All completed bios was updated yesterday. I have loaded the default profile
  15. i have completed all this but the pc fails to boot and a q code of 8 appears on the motherboard.

  19. Help please. I have followed every forum post and Youtube guide i can get my hands on and i just cant get this processor past 3.6 ghz. The moment i get above it seems to change its self to 1549.00 Mhz (please see picture). Its been two days and it has me up the wall. i have changed the core voltage hundreds of time, i have no heat problems at all it never goes above 41 degrees c P.S Not sure why the ram is reading 1066 Mhz Asus Cross-hair VI Corsair 2133 32Gb ram H100i Corsair 750w power supply 980ti
  20. Advice please. I have bought a part built Ryzen 1700 which only had options for 2133 MHz ram, I bought 32gb for video editing, Photoshop and Aftereffects as well as gaming. Do I need to replace the ram with 3200Mhz as I am now aware this has a large effect on the Ryzen CPU performance.
