  1. Yeah, I guess the seller made a mistake.
  2. Perfect, that's fine by me. Thank you for your quick reply !
  3. Hi guys, I need some enlightment regarding the power connection between my PSU and GPU. So the GPU is a MSI 3080 ti suprim with the 3x 8pins as illustrated below. With my new PSU (Corsair RM 850X), i have received 2x PCI cables as follow. And with the GPU I have received this cable (which looks useless for this card if I'm not mistaken). My main question is can I use the 2x PCI cables to plug the card (so one 8 pins and one with 2x 8pins "daisy chained"). If not, It looks like my PSU can plug more than 2 PCI cables, should I buy a 3rd one then ? Or My old PSU (Corsair CS 650M) has a PCI cable I could use, I guess i shouldn't thrust it but anyone knows if it will be compatible ? And last question, what does the "Nvidia" power cable is used for ? Thank you for all your answers and have a nice day !
  4. Okey, thanks for your answers , you're the best as always. I guess i will get a a new one then. Looking a bit into it, I like the corsair's prices and i am pleased with mine right now. What about this one: Corsair RM750 80PLUS Gold (2021) Would you recommand it for that? or do you have another brand to recommand?
  5. Just the 3070 to replace my 1080. and my power supply is "Corsair CS650 M (with 2x 8 pins connector)
  6. Hello everyone, I am once again turning back to you to check if my power supply will be enough for this upgrade Right now, I have a 650w power supply. The build I have/want: - I7 10700k - ATX MSI Z490 gaming plus - 2x 16Go DDR4 3200mhz ram - RTX 3070 (3 fans) (actual GTX 1080) - Let's say about 3-5 USB 3 devices connected - 4 120mm tower fans + 2 for the CPU - 3x SSD (125Gb, 1To and 2To) - 1x Hd (2to) Should I upgrade for a 750w or more? Or do you guys think i can still get away with my 650w without instability? Thank you for your answers as always, you're the best
  7. Thanks again, From what I've read, I probably agree with 1saacF that it should be fine, but I like to have a clean build and 3 sticks 24b doesn't seems right to me -_- So I would go for the 2x16gb. I tought of changing my CPU cooler but i don't want to be bothered with removing my mb to install it. Plus I am pleased with my cooler.
  8. Hello people, Once again, i turn for the Linus forum for good advice. I had 2x8Gb ram sticks installed on my PC. I wanted to upgrade with 2 more sticks of the same specs. But i realise i can only use 3 of my 4 ram slots (thanks to the CPU cooler, you guessed it probably)... So my question is "is it ok to have 3 out of 4 slot used or should i buy 2x16Gb sticks?" From what I've read, the ram are not working in dual channel now and so it has an (unnoticeable?) effect on performance. Am i better off buying 2x16Gb sticks instead of using 3x8gb? I have an MSI z490 gaming plus motherboard with an I7 10700k if it changes something. Thank you for your answers and have a nice day/evening.

    450w PSU

Hello guys, I am asking for a friend. Do you think a 450w PSU will be enough for: - I7 4790k - GTX 770 - 2x8Gb ddr3 ram - No rgb or crazy stuffs I think it should be just enough but you might proove me wrong Thanks for the answers and have a nice day.
  11. Well, i guess i have a couple of long days before me
  12. Hello guys, I just swapped my mobo and cpu (i7 4790k to i7 10700k and MSI mobo) but i can't boot my "old" windows from my ssd. I changed the bios setting from UEFI to csm but it doesn't change anything. For what i understand, my old windows install was in MBR and i have to change it to GPT (which i did using DiskGenius software) but it still wont boot up. But if i keep it to mbr and try to boot it in CSM, i get the message "reboot and select proper boot device..." if i change it to GPT and try to boot it in UEFI i just go into the bios if i change it to GPT and try to boot in CSM i get the message "reboot and select proper boot device..." If i try to repair windows using my USB stick, it cannot find the windows installation (either in MBR or GPT) I used an old SSD to install a new windows (just to be sure the PC can boot up) and it works. But i would love to avoid having to install all the software/games again... Hopefully i can still connect my SSD with my "old" windows and check the file using my new windows install but... Please, tell me that someone has a solution for me whitout erasing my "old" windows Thank you already for your answers !
  13. Oh boy, and i tought swapping the hardware would be the hard part, how wrong i was. After a clean windows install the computer boot up. I managed to make the GPU works by plugging in the hdmi cable, so i could install the drivers. And finally the displayport cable works. The weird thing is that my GPU fans wont turn on unless i open msi afterburner. (i havent try to launch a game yet). Thanks as always for your quick answers. I will probably come back at some point, i doubt that was the last of my issues Have a nice day
  14. I am reinstalling windows on another hard drive right now to try and boot 1st on the onboard graphics card. My "old" windows intallation wont boot up. For what i understand it might be a problem with mbr and gpt partition. if i manage to boot up windows, i will try to install the nvidia 1080 driver and see if there is changes.
