  1. Hi, My name is Greg and I stream with a Dual PC setup. My current processor the i7 7820xe processor is not cutting it with all of the overlays and multi-source scenes. Im looking to upgrade but what processor will help with the encoding that Streamlabs OBS does? Is it more cores? Higher CLock speeds? I want to get the right processor for the job but im not sure what to get. I would think more cores and a more productivity focused processor would do. PS I dont want to code in the Nvedec style. I want to go x264. If anyone can shine some light and give me some suggestions that would be great. Price is of no matter at all. I stream full time so i want to invest into my setup and my stream does pretty well so price is no object. I just dont want to buy a 2k processor unless i know its going to solve my problem. I would like to stay intel but i know the threadripper is pretty good with productivity. SO ANY info or opinions or knowledge would be great! Thanks in advance!!
  2. It is a Processing limitaition. Internet is fine. Skipping frames not dropping. Drop = internet Skip = Processing.
  3. I cannot run it at max without skipping frames. To run at max its very demanding for processing. I only have obs on that computer so nothing else is running either.
  4. Hello everyone! So I need some advice. Im a streamer and i have a dual pc setup. With my current build I cant run OBS at max processing settings. I want to be able to run obs max settings for the best quality. I can run it about 4 settings from the top quality. Here is my build for my streaming PC. Streaming PC Setup Intel Core i7-7820X X-Series Processor EVGA GeForce GTX 760 GIGABYTE X299 AORUS Ultra Gaming Pro Motherboard CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB 3000 MHz Corsair Obsidian Series 550D Black Aluminum Corsair - Hydro Series H100i Corsair RM Series 850W Power Supply Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro My question is i think I would need to update the processor to achieve the best quality. I was going to swap the I7 7820X for either the I9 7980XE or the I9 9980XE but if im going to spend that kind of money I want to make sure that it will give me what I want. Also im not asking if its overkill but if those processors will achieve what I want which is better processing for my stream in OBS. Also im not looking for more money efficient methods. But if there is a better processor that will achieve better results then I am all game for suggestions. Thanks and I hope you guys can help me with this one. EDIT: I kind of want to stay with intel so i dont have to swap motherboards.
  5. Yes I did. Im a little scared to do that tho. hmm
  6. Yes i reapplied like 3 times. Just to make sure. The first time seemed like a bit too much. had to pull it off again then did it again. But i agree witht that but with it being like 6 years old i was thinking maybe its time to be put to rest lol. But also its so old that i didnt have the right screws to fasten it down. The headers that go into the motherboard were too long. SO i got headers from a newer corsair one and it allowed it to put enough pressure down on the cpu that it actually started working but not good enough. So maybe that model just insnt right for that cpu
  7. Yea thats what im thinking. Thanks for the input buddy :3
  8. Everything is working fine. Eveything is plugged in a working. The airflow is good and when the temps get hot my fans go CRAZY so they are working. The airflow is good as far as i can tell. But now that you say something. It seems one of the the hoses is vibrating and the other doesnt seem to be. hmmm and thanks for the welcome :3
  9. One of the hoses are hot. As for the cooler im not sure what the wattage is. Also everything is stock for me. No overclocking at all. Do you think the age of the cooler could affect somthing?
  10. So i upgraded my old pc that I now use for streaming to a 7820x processor and a Gigabyte x299 Aorus Pro Motherboard. I used all of my other parts to complete this. Had to upgrade my ram just because. My cpu is getting RIDICULOUSLY hot. Im talking 90 when i put it under full load in OBS. But it doesnt do it right at first. It will slowly make its way up there. Im using my old H100i Corsair cooler on it which ive had for about 6 or 7 years. Before I go out and spend a lot of money i dont have what do you guys think could be the problem? Ive deduced it was probably the cooler working but not working enough. It was cooling a i7 4770k before but compared to the I77820 the 4770k is childplay as far as wattage. Someone also mentioned it might be the power supply. Any truth to this? The power supply is the same amount of time old. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance guys! :3 Edit: Everything stock. No OCs Also sitting idle with nothing running and after being off all night im sitting idle at 30-31C but when i throw something at it, it climbs high in temp. So it seems the like its working but cant work hard enough for the hard times.
