  1. Hi is there a way to connect two PoE af devices on one cable with PoE at? I’ll be using a PoE+ switch and want to connect two IP camera’s outside my house but only have one cat6 cable going outside. The two camera’s will be placed next to each other covering different angles. thanks in advance
  2. Port numbers don't get reused and I use hundreds if not thousands of arduino's and other embedded devices a year Does not seem to work but thanks! Yep, I assume you also haven't found a solution for this problem then?
  3. Hi guys I use a lot of devices that use virtual COM ports, this results in me manually having to delete reserved COM ports every few weeks. I've been searching for a way to batch delete these but haven't found a way that works yet. Does anyone have any ideas?
  4. Heya guys I've been trying to figure out what approach would be best but since I'd need to do some studying in both cases its been hard to determine just using Google. For that reason I thought it might be a whole lot simpler to just ask people who might have already done something like this. I learned C# in school a while back and haven't used it in a long time but now I'm thinking I might want to get back into it to automate something. However, the thing I want to automate might just be easily possible in Excel. The goal is the following: I want to calculate the average battery autonomy from a TSV log. I want to automate it so I can redo it every time I get a new log. The log contains a whole bunch of information, charging currents etc but the only parameters I need are 'timestamp', 'SoC' and 'charger state'. Below some example data (cleaned up). Formula would be something like this: when charger state changes from ≠ 'NO_PS' to = 'NO_PS' that is time1 and SoC1 when charger state changes back from = 'NO_PS' to ≠ 'NO_PS' that is time2 and SoC2 autonomy = ((time2 - time1) / (SoC1 - SoC2))*100 Then I would want to average out all the total autonomy's I get from a log file. My concrete question is, is this possible in Excel? If possible, is it feasible to do it in Excel or would another way be preferable? And optionally some more direct pointers would also be very welcome. example file.tsv
  5. Just looked into that and I think I'll go that route, seems like the perfect excuse to buy a Raspberry Pi
  6. This might be worth looking into. Edit: forgot I didn't have a static IP adress and that that would be a problem
  7. As the title says, i'm looking for a free or cheap email service to use in combination with my custom domain name. I used to have a website+domain at one.com and a few months ago I retired the website since it is no longer relevant but I would like to keep using the email adress a while longer. Paying like 35€ a year to one.com for webhosting just to use the limited included mailbox seems a bit silly so I'm looking for an alternative that either costs less or is free or offers more features. I like protonmail and am already using the free version of their service however upgrading that to the plan that can use custom domains costs 48€ a year which is silly seeing how little i use that mail account. I'm open to all suggestions, a focus on privacy is a plus but not required.
  8. World records are almost always on liquid nitrogen unless specified, highest overclock on aircooling or something like that. I think they mess arround with even more exotic stuff like liquid helium as well but don't know too much about that myself.
  9. I for one would be paying since circumventing georestrictions is the biggest advantage to VPN's in my eyes and the free plan only gives 3 countries and a limited speed. I see how their product could make money even without selling userdata.
  10. https://protonvpn.com/ same guys who did protonmail, based in switserland, seems like an allround safe bet
  11. I've seen decently color graded footage shot in V-log on even cheaper Panasonics that looks like a scene from freaking Lord of the Rings. I'm confident the right people can use a S1H in combination with much more expensive gear and we'd never see it stand out. Unrelated to this camera getting certified I've also worried about the quality of some of Netflix's inhouse productions.
  12. Thats crazy, professional grade cinematography has gotten so cheap these days.
