There's a thumb rule (i made, lol) for Intel Chips:
Same Core Count & same TDP Class = Same Chip.

This one will not "have 100 Mhz more", it is allowed to boost 100 Mhz higher, as long Power Limit and Thermal Limit allow it. If the Device is hot, it probably won't boost as much.
And that 5,6 Ghz vs. 5,5 Ghz is probably only a very short Burst when you start an application for example.

You won't ever feel this difference, not even in 10 years. Even if you use heavy Applications.
Maybe you can measure an ever so slight difference in Benchmarks, when you actually get Numbers to compare. But without numbers you will never notice anything.

TL;DR: Not even worth 50 Dollar tbh.
But you do get 64gb RAM too, maybe other differences. But tbh, i'd save the money. Maybe even go down further in specs.

Whilst that solution works, I don't agree with it being a proper solution unfortunately as this may cause further issues down the line.
You may also find the file gets recreated by Windows Updates / troubleshooters such as sfc /scannow or DISM repairs

Hopefully this pushes Intel to start making some advancements towards more power efficient chips. Having the fastest of something is great, but if it's too power hungry and hot, what's the point? Especially if being used in a more professional environment where that stuff actually matters more.

That's not an apples to apples comparison--and almost never is when you're talking about laptops.  The GPU #'s can be "the same" but the performance most definitely isn't.  You may have desktop GPU's that consume more wattage than the entire laptop combined.

CPU sockets do change every few generations--but the new generations from both AMD and Intel--right now--are the 1st of the type; so the potential for upgrade will probably be around for several years.  "GPU Form Factor" - I'm not even sure what that means.  PCI-e is the interface standard.  I'm not even sure we've maxed out 5.0 yet, so I wouldn't really worry about that either.

Size wise?  Cooling options are always superior on a desktop--and of necessity.  There are no gaming laptops that are designed with cooling as the top priority.  "Thin and light" means I can usually get 90 degrees in 15 minutes without much effort; just load up a recent game and you may not even need to crank the details.

Dell?  I mean, if you are zealously tied to whatever "on-site" offerings you have--then I guess that's your call.  Alienware (post Dell acquisition) is near bottom of brands for gaming rigs (imho)--with Gigabyte being one that I would recommend even less.  I would pick anything Clevo over anything Dell (though I realize that those aren't always distinct categories).

No, each CPU is different. If person A is able to undervolt by -110mV stable does not mean Person B can do the same. It all depends on the silicon lottery. Some CPUs can run at X frequency with less voltage and some can't so you'll have to experiment for yourself on what works for your CPU

Matebook 13 also uses 3:2 display. The more basic model with i7 and Intel iGPU should be around 1000$.

    EDIT: It's actually bit over 900$. $1000 gets you i5 Matebook Pro X with 3k resolution, 14" 3:2 display.

    - Alienware m15 (Had this laptop a while back from HIDevolution and bought it with their upgraded thermals, Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut + Fujipoly Extreme Thermal Pads, with that upgrade which reduces temps by 15C, the laptop performed like a champ and never overheated, plus I got the 90WHr version so it had superb battery life, and power, all in a very portable and sturdy little package)

    - MSI GS65

If you email donald@hidevolution.com , you might be able to get a small discount. He's the salesman I dealt with when I ordered my laptops and what I like about him is that he never tries to over-sell you on anything just to make a bigger sale but treats you like a friend and gives genuine advice. He even saved me a few bucks sometimes when I chose upgrades that I didn't necessarily need.

No such thing. Either you hand over the dough or get crappy laptop. Overspending is bad idea but cheaping out is even worse especially if you need your laptop for work purposes.

MacBook Air is great and the trackpad is godly, but if you type a lot you may dislike the keyboard, it's the new (also quite unreliable) super, super short travel one. It's not terrible to use (I've set up both the 2019 MBA and MBPs for peeps at work), but compared to the mid-2015 and mid-2012 MBP keyboards it's an oof. Also the 2c/4t CPU is fine for most stuff, but you can get better performance from other options. Really depends on whether or not you really want macOS. If you did want macOS, why not a full MacBook Pro? Even the base models have a quad core and they're barely thicker than the MBA (they do get loud under load though, even burst load like installing apps ramps the fans, and they are quite high pitched).

Also is there a reason not to just get a new Dell? Their XPS line is usually damn solid.

Checkout the MSI Alpha 15, it's a steal for the specs you get.

When you're in the laptop customization page, I recommend that you choose "Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut + Fujipoly Extreme Thermal Pads." That reduces your CPU/GPU temps by as much as 15C which is a must in today's laptop which sport fast CPUs/GPUs to prevent over-heating and thermal throttling.

Razer has a really bad rep in general due to their prone to hardware failures and customer support, I'd avoid them if I buy a computer for work.
I'd lean toward the ThinkPad X1 Extreme / P1 for content creator laptops
For me I've been using the ThinkPad X1 Extreme, and it has been great joy to use this laptop: built like a tank, has a 4K screen with insane color gamut (100% SRGB and 100% AdobeRGB), i7 8750H, 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD, all for $1700 buying secondhanded.

Since thats your price, id agree with ultra on the MSI Prestige 15. Also, dont buy the Alpha 15. that GPU isnt even released yet and you shoudnt reccommend a product with a brand new GPU thats not even out yet.

Odds are itll be fine but still. That being said, the RX5500m on the Alpha might be more powerful than the GTX 1650 Max Q so ill leave it to as to whether you value the small performance increase of the Alpha in gaming and wanna wait for the reviews on it. that being said if your looking for mobile gaming machines you should go for the Zephyrus G anyhow.

Zephyrus Ga502 for $1000 (depending on where you look and sales, like at best buy its at $1000 sale alot) has a 1660TI max Q, 120Hz refresh, 16gb, 72whr battery netting you 6-7 hours of normal use and a 512 SSD with another m.2 slot free for expansion and another for expanding ram. Screen color accuracy aint great though.

Prestige is good bang for buck more focused on conventional use rather than gaming. Not a gaming machine but can run some older titles and newer and stuff at medium settings. Good screen, battery life is better too. just at the cost of GPU.

Ill leave it to you as to which youre lookin more for

    - Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme
    - MSI Prestige 15
    - Dell XPS 7590
    - ASUS Zephyrus

HIDevolution has superb build and quality control and best of all, they offer Thermal paste upgrades + thermal pads so I would definitely choose "Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut + Fujipoly Extreme Thermal Pads" in the laptop customization screen. That upgrade alone reduces temps by 15C to ensure the laptop doesn't overheat and/or thermal throttle.

Please don't get a Lenovo ThinkPad. They have terrible quality control (my $2000 P1 Extreme 2019 had a defective keyboard) and terrible customer service (look it up on Google if you don't believe me, they took several weeks to give me a refund even though I was promised that I would get my money in a week). I was getting 5 hours of battery life with my ThinkPad configuration (1080p 500 nit display, i7 9850H) and build quality was pretty mediocre given the price.

Buy a MacBook Pro instead (that's what I did), it's a great laptop. Also OS X gestures are AMAZING (I can't emphasize this enough), I hate using Windows 10 now lol.

MBP 13", if you like MacOS, if you get the model with the Iris Plus 655 it has noticably better graphics than most other 13" laptops that use UHD 620, MacOS tends to be pretty fast. 4 TB3 ports too, bud sadly no USB-A. Great screen, 2560x1600 with excellent colors. Ram comes stock with 8GB, but nothing is user upgradable. Good CPU too, the 28W 8259U outperforms any 15W quad core. (other configs available)
    2000$ for i5-8259U, Iris Plus 655, 16GB Ram, 256GB SSD

MSI Prestige 14/15  - 6c12t and a GTX 1650 in a sleek laptop, imo looks great and is not too expensive. 4K screen is very sharp, and 32GB of DDR4 and 1TB SSD is a major improvement over other laptops at this price point. 6c12t 15W, should hold decent clocks with a repaste or an undervolt or both. (other configs available)
    1800$ for the i7-10710U/1650 15" 4k 1TB SSD/32GB Ram, but is out of stock.
    1400$ for the i7-10710U/1650 15" 1080p 512GB SSD/16GB Ram.
    1600$ for the i7-10710U/1650 14" 4k 1TB/16GB Ram Pre-order

Dell XPS 13/15 - I love my XPS 15, very powerful 45W 6c12t, and a 1050 ti/1650 with tiny bezels, decent keyboard, and MASSIVE battery. XPS 13 has a 6c12t proc and a great screen and battery life. 4K oled on the 15, 1080p screen on the 13. (other configs available)
    1400$ for the i7-10710U/UHD 620/16GB/256GB 1080p
    1700$ for the 9750H/1650/4K OLED/16GB/256GB

strongly reccomend not getting a razer. they have some reliability issues. trackpads dying, bios crashes, etc...
Also id avoid hard drives if i were you, they can break easy and are generally slow and outdated theyre being phased out already

Asus does have some options along the lines of Vivobooks and zenbooks. just make sure they work out of the box. Asus has some initial quality controls as things can get passed them. Not to say your device will break randomly just make sure when you first get it everything works out of the box and theres no issues. Otherwise your fine and it'll last you years to come

Im just guessing here cause you didnt mention a budget and what currency.
