  1. And it's not just a software setting at this point? The device shows up under input devices?
  2. That should do it, but try with your current XLR adapter, phantom power off and the "pad" on.
  3. Have you used the interface previously? Is it specifically the modmic that doesn't work with it?
  4. You connect it to the PC with the USB right? And it shows up under audio devices when you do? Then there is no reason for a sound card.
  5. The larger hole in the middle of the XLR is a 6.3mm connector. So you would just use a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter and plug in straight into the interface. Wouldn't make much sense using XLR inputs for a little microphone over such small distances. Now, it doesn't mean that it will just automatically work but it just seems more convenient. Do you know more specifically where the problem lies?
  6. I would recommend one of the HifiMe(DIY) DACs. They use ESS DACs which are of high quality. https://www.amazon.com/s?field-keywords=hifime
  7. There is no reason to use it with an XLR adapter. Just try it with a normal 6.3mm.
  8. Is the SP01 shock mount really compatible with the AT2035? Why would the AT2035 perform better in an open room than the yeti? Why wouldn't you just buy the AT2020 USB version?
  9. I have DT880s (similar to DT990s) and HD650 and while they do sound different I wouldn't say that one is better than the other. It is possible that you'd prefer the sennheiser sound (especially after having used the same pair of headphones for a while - using another pair gives some new like to your music) but it's questionable if the cost would really be justified for a pair that would at best be marginally better. I would strongly advise trying a pair of sennheisers before buying one (preferably side by side comparison). Maybe look into upgrading to a high quality DAC instead?
