Motherboard VRM Tier List v2 (currently AMD only)
Booterbotter replied to Jurrunio's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Any updated motherboard tier list? Also, would there be an AM5 version but yeah AM4 updated one would suffice since we know AM5 is still new but a lot of users are still using AM4 -

Motherboard VRM Tier List v2 (currently AMD only)
Booterbotter replied to Jurrunio's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Is the last update of this really 2019? @Jurrunio -
He said its the ID cooling-Zoomflow 360 the rig is just 6 months old. We suggested for him to bring the pc parts to a tech who can test the other parts if some may be still working except for the obvious ones that won't work.
-
Edit: This is not mine, this is from a fellow local tech community here in the Philippines, we don't have much details of what happened as per user it just suddenly happened. Might also be due to a bad vrm of that motherboard? • Deepcool | Quanta DQ - DQ-ST - DQ Evo DQ 750 ST 80+ Gold with 5yrs warranty (few months old), caused an issue. Anyone else had negative feedback with that specific model? Just noticed, it might also be a possible AIO leak if we see the white AIO on the pic. The user is not really sure what happened unfortunately.

Best budget durable (can last for years r/w) SSD?
Booterbotter replied to Booterbotter's topic in Storage Devices
I guess you pretty much use it for Windows OS? Being in Tier D or C at least looks good budget wise per checking. -
Just wondering, I was checking on my bookmarked ssd tier list Got confused a bit on back reading the comments lol. So generally, is there a specific Tier (C or B maybe) SSD that can last 5yrs or so. Purpose will be just for windows and 1 or 2 major games or even just windows os TBH lol. Thanks!

So tried all possible combination for 3600, cl rates and all. It only worked and stable at 2800 cl 14-15-15-15-35 8x2 dual channel in mem test and benchmarks. Is it safe to rule out a compatibility issue? Can't say it's a hardware issue because using 1pc of the 2 dimms, on slot 2 and slot 4. They work individually 3600Mhz. slot 2 = 1pc ram 3600mhz cl 18 slot 4 = 1pc ram 3600mhz cl 18 not sure what to try next at this point
-
You mean exactly the same motherboard, cpu and memory? That one I linked above? That's really gonna help because if it works for you then it's probably a defect on the one I have now? O_o So you mean it should be fine right? It should be compatible to dual channel 8x2 3600Mhz? Mine works but the memory test always fails.
-
Yup, forgot to elaborate that part. It works 8x2 = 16GB even if I go into windows. The problem is when I do a memtest it always fails when it's on 3600Mhz. Usually if it's just wrong slots, there will be a message that you it's not optimized or something right? BTW, was using a 2666Mhz 8x2 before and that was working fine so pretty sure it's the rights dimm slots
-
Hi, Just looking for 2nd opinion. Does the Sided = Single, Side = 8GB means that this ram is not fully compatible because it's not telling us it's 16GB? But it's confusing part is the DIMM stating 1 | 2 | 4 DIMM, the 1st and 2nd slots are checked. Or maybe it means 4x2 dual channel or what? To further elaborate the issue, I'll give the details below the screenshots.. Ryzen 5 3600 MSI B450 Tomahawk Max (latest bios version) https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX#support-mem-19 Under Compatibility > Memory RX-3X00 / Matisse, you should be able to search the ram sku model below. 8x2 GB Corsair Vengance Pro 3600mhz - CL 18-22-22-42 www.corsair.com/ca/en/Categories/Products/Memory/Vengeance-PRO-RGB-Black/p/CMW16GX4M2Z3600C18 So using XMP Profile 1 or 2, MSI's Memory Try It in Bios or Manual OC timing for the ram to set it to 3600Mhz. It just does not work properly. Doing a memory test would ALWAYS FAIL. The weird part is, if I test the ram individually (just 1 pc with 3600Mhz set in the bios), it will ALWAYS PASS. Which leads to the question, this is a compatibility issue I guess? Checking MSI motherboards website, there are some ram with Sided = Dual and it shows 16GB, and 3 checks. Just a bit confused on this issue. I don't think it might be a hardware defect because it works if you use it just 1 pc of 8GB set to 3600Mhz (both of the ram works that way, they just want to be alone? lol)
-
Yup, I even built them their own PC's but of course I monitor what games they play.
-
I got cpuz working on stock and it said CL 18 as well which is really weird because there are no website or so stating it is CL 15 aside from that aliexpress website above lol. So it's on 2666Mhz CL 18 Which is why I tried setting in "Memory Try It" bios of MSI. Do you think it's pure luck or should I just leave it at stock to be safe since heck its a cheap ram?
