  1. not quite what I was looking for but several hours of fiddling tells me your right. returning the arctis 3's.
  2. right we got my son some arctis 3's for christmas. they sound great and the mic works a treat but we're having a strange issue with with background audio on the pc passing through discord to other people in the voice chat. For example we are in a voice chat and his microphone is muted, I cant hear him, but I can still hear the youtube video he is watching, I've tried playing with discord settings as well as the windows 10 voice and sound settings. I tried disabling audio mix as that came up in the threads I googled but no dice. We would rather not have to enable push to talk. I myself have a pair of arctis 5's and have not had this issues however mine connect via usb and the 3's connect via microphone and audio jack. Any and all help and or advice is appreciated. thank you!
  3. As the title states I am experiencing Black screens after trying to enable XMP. I wouldn't mind the ram not being able to hit its rated frequency however: this is only happening after I performed a bios update. Before the bios update my ram could hit 3600mhz with xmp enabled howevere it no longer does. Has anyone else experienced this? I currently have it set manually to 3200mhz which is fine, just curious as to why I'm having this issue. I am running the following: ASRock X570 Pro4 (BIOS version 3.10. I believe this caused my problems) AMD Ryzen 7 3700x MSI RTX 270 Super Gaming X 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance RGB PRO Black, PC4-28800 (3600), Non-ECC Unbuff, CAS 18, 1.35V, AMD Ryzen Optimised EVGA 750W SuperNOVA G1+ 2x WD Blue SN 550 500gb NVMe SSD's 2TB WD Blue HDD
  4. Thank you so much, this has been very helpful. I did not know this. I appreciate your time and explanation!
  5. I've done this and is boosted the frequency from 1300 to just under 1800, still a fast cry from 3600 though.
  6. That's correct, I followed the motherboard manufacturers guidance.
  7. Yes however I can try it again. Do I need to set the frequency as 3600 or leave it on auto?
  8. I've just built a new pc. The ram is rated at 3600mhz however it's only achieving 1300mhz. I've enabled xmp so I'm not sure where the issue lies. The parts in question are as follows: Ram: Corsair vengeance RGB Pro 3600mhz MOBO: asrock x570 pro4 CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x Any and all help appreciated.
  9. I have resolved the issue with a bios update. thread can be closed.
  10. Hey guys. I recently built my very first gaming pc. It has worked flawlessly however today I decided I wanted all my RGB to match up so I installed Corsair iCue to try and control my ram. iCue doesn't recognise the ram which is fine cause its still displaying its stock rainbow vomit wave animation. Now I also have a Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite which is RGB fusion compatible so I download that to change the aorus badge to to show the same rainbow vomit wave animation for consistency sake. This is where the problem happens. As soon as I load up RGB fusion the 2 sticks of ram just turn a solid blue. try and get them going rainbow again and one just turns off. revert back to blue and the one thats off turns on and the one thats on turns off. this repeats as I change the colour. so now I have deleted RGB fusion and have 2 functional ram sticks but they no longer illuminate. My question now is how do I just get my two ram sticks to turn back on so just their preset animation if iCue doesn't recognise them at all and RGB fusion doesn't play nice with them. If you require further information please just ask. I am in fact still a pc novice.
  11. Brilliant thank you so much for your help. I've posted a second edit for final revision before I order my parts. I'm properly excited to get gaming again.
  12. Thank you very much for your input! I believe CiT are the same company that do the DIY cases in the states.
