  1. out of all of the software available, any suggestion which one to stick to beside NZXT cam?
  2. hmm Idk why the text with my issue was overwritten with pc part picker list. upgraded computer from ivy bridge i5 3570k to i7 8700k. New to the whole RGB features for various parts. I'm having an issue with controlling all of the RGB lights. I downloaded gigabyte's software, nzxt cam, corsair, and evga to control various parts that has the RGB feature. But whenever I try to control one part for example the corsair ram, and then switch over to nzxt cam to adjust the case lighting, it will adjust both corsair ram and the nxzt h500i case lighting. Is there any way to simplify this? Disregard SSD cost. Reused from a previous build, bought it refurbished from microcenter for like $50. 3. Ah, forgot to mention that I read that to get optimal oc results. Everyone is saying that the 8700k has to be delidded. Which is why I was going to go with the 9700k. Not really interested in delidding the cpu with the limited time I have after work. Yep, looking at the MC in duluth off pleasant hill. I'm going to make it rain today at that store after work.
  4. Hello fellow Atlantan. Grabbing everything from microcenter, the price difference between the two cpu/mobo combo is $100. I tried doing my research but couldn't find a consistent answer. People are saying that the cost difference is not worth going with 9700k while others are saying that the 9700k results in better FPS.
  5. For some reason, I could edited the topic text. current setup i5-3570k 8 gigs of ram 2070 gigabyte windforce 256 SSD 144hz 1080p monitor Reusing SSD. Returning 2070 for 2080. Buying everything from microcenter. Mostly play pubg, looking for validation for build.

  7. Current set up is 3570k with 8 gigs and rtx 2070 gigabyte windforce. Mainly gaming Pubg on 1080p 144hz monitor. Got the 2070 to eventually upgrade to 1440p 144hz monitor. Setup is mostly used for gaming and light office work. Going to microcenter to upgrade cpu, mobo, and ram. Can decide if going with intel is worth the extra money and I would have to get a new cpu cooler, noctua d14? Looking at the following bundles https://www.microcenter.com/product/5002600/intel-core-i5-9600k,-gigabyte-z390-aorus-pro,-cpu---motherboard-bundle http://www.microcenter.com/product/5001839/AMD_Ryzen_5_2600_with_Wraith_Stealth_Cooler,_ASUS_ROG_Strix_X470-F_Gaming_CPU-Motherboard_Bundle I searched through this forum and reddit and I'm getting mixed results. Any help?
  8. Had the same issue, upgraded from rx580 to RTX2070 last night. Two monitor one is connected via HDMI which works fine but 144hz monitor connected via display port would not display but detects on nvidia control panel and screen resolution windows setting. Tried other display port but same issue and tried using a HDMI cable for the 144hz monitor and it worked fine. Googled around and saw someone suggesting to power cycle the monitor... Disconnected power cable for the 144hz monitor and then it worked connected via displayport. give it a try..
  9. Update played around with going down to an older bios version and then update to the latest bios. changed some of the settings and now I am able to get past the windows splash screen and onto the main desktop. new issue is that it wont display my 2nd monitor MSI Optix MAG24MVC 23.6" Full HD 144Hz DVI HDMI DP FreeSync Curved Gaming LED Monitor i tried using nvidia control panel and screen resolution settings but i will not extend onto the other monitor. it is connected via displayport and I tried both ports. i5 3570k, gigabyte z77-ds3h BIOS updated to F11a, 8 gigs ram previously had rx580 and used DDU in safe mode to uninstall drivers. Installed new RTX 2070 and pc posted but after installing 417.17 nvidia drivers, pc will not post. windows trouble shoot it to restore back before the drivers were installed. any help? using windows 7, I get to the splash screen but nothing else just a black blank screen. googled this issue and tried changing the bios with setting everything to legacy, gen 3, and pcie boot to PEG but nothing. restarted the cmos as well but nothing tried different bios, but same results. any help?
  10. thank you everyone for your inputs. I'll go ahead and just grab a 144hz gaming monitor instead at this time. any recommendations for 24 inch 1080p 144hz? which panel should i look at? TN, IPS, or VA? mostly playing pubg
  11. Located in USA Currently rocking MSI rx580 amor dual fan 8gb. Mainly playing pubg on a 1080p 24" 60 hz monitor with a I5-3570k 8 gigs cooled by hyper 212. Nothing is overclocked. Noticing for certain maps, frames drop below 60 fps on high quality setting and I want to improve the performance. At least consistent 60 FPS on high if not be able to max out on ultra. Here is the question, Should I return the rx580 and get a RTX2070 or I also have been wanting to upgrade monitor to a 144hz 24 monitor Please help me decide.
