  1. I did what Circeseye said to do and they fit, which if figured they would. Still doesn’t seem right but I can’t find anything to the contrary. I’ll just have to see what happens. Thanks for all the help.
  2. Arian W the picture you posted would fit my card but connectors are not shapedlike that. The two pin you show have two different shapes. Mine have the same shapes, no square, only half round and square.
  3. The two six pin are labeled VGA. No markings in the the (2) two pin. It also doesent make any difference how you hold them together the two pin have different shape connectors; no getting around that. To fit you would have to push a half round/halgpf square into a square opening.
  4. By the way the PSU is a EVGA 450BT bronze if that makes a difference.
  5. So I should force the 2 pin into the empty two spaces. Sounds like round peg into square hole. Yikes! Are you sure?
  6. I need a little help with a used GPU I purchased. It is a AMD radon double xfx r9 280x. The card has one 6 pin and one 8 pin power connector. My power supply has (2) six pin with (2) 2 pin adaptors. I plugged the six pin into one of the power connector ports and I can plug one of the 6 pin adapators into the 8 pin connector leaving 2 open at the end. The 2 pin adapators won’t fit into the other two space as there are different shapes than the connector holes. The 2 pin adapator prongs are rounded on one side and square on the other end. The connector requires one square on all side and one like what described with the rounded side. I dont know if I explained this correctly but could someone explain to me what to do? Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the recommendations but those suggested are far to expensive for my build. Apparently that may be what’s necessary so I’m going to take VK707 advice and sell as is. I’ll let the buyer add what they want. Thanks again
  8. I need some suggestions on a GPU for a computer that I plan on selling. Looking for something that would go with this system, not to expensive but something that might make the sale price a bit more attractive. Not sure what that price maybe as of yet. Suggestions? The computer is an i7-6700k, MSI Z270 gaming M5 motherboard, 16mb of DDR4-2133 ram, Phantex eclipse P400 case, Arctic Freeze cpu cooler. The motherboard, case, cpu cooler, EVGA 450 bronze power supply are new. The CPU and ram are recycled from an older computer I had. Thanks TY
  9. Thanks Mxk. I was looking on Amazon but they have a lot of no name devices. I’m looking for something very good, five star plus. Must be name brand or something recommend from this site. I’ll check out Anne Pro 2.
  10. Not sure if this is what’s it’s called but I’m looking for a good, very good, remote control for my PC/HTPC. I want to use my new PC for both HTPC and light gaming. I would like something compact. I realize I may need to devices one for HTPC and one for gaming. The full size keyboard i use now is not to my liking. I was wondering what members here use. Thanks
  11. I really want to thank everyone who helped me through my new build. Your advised kept me out of trouble. To my surprise all the components I salvaged from my damaged computers worked. I actually have enough parts to build a second one? The m.2 SSD I used had the operating system from the old computer and it booted to windows correctly. Only problem was the user name and password that I forgot. Solved that after a fashion. I even installed a 16GB optane and it recognized it. The new MSI motherboard software is amazing even though I don’t understand half of it. I only used the integrated graphics. Now to research a new one for Video streaming and light gaming and a few other components. Again ️️️️️
  12. The_Big_Grape so far so good the fans are working and the temperatures where they should be. Like you said if it works it works. Thanks again

    FAN PINS

Thanks LoGiCalDrm I have been researching that and still working on it. But I did have success with my first build. It turned on and all the fans work. ? My power supply has an Eco switch that turns the fan off in the power unit when under light load. Trying to decide if I want to do that. Temp of CPU 36C, which seems in the ok range from what I read, no load. System temperature is about 10 degrees cooler. Thanks again for responding.
  14. Thanks The_Big_Grape wasnt sure what I wrote made sense. I’ll be firing it up today sometime after I go through everything again.

    FAN PINS

Imbellis I never like to assume anything, usually gets me into trouble. The motherboard is a MIS Z270 gaming M5. Seeing the case came with only 3 pin fans I’ll have to go with that. I’m working at this has we converse. I will research what you stated before I turn it on tomorrow.

    FAN PINS

Thank you everone for you quick and very informative responses.
  17. Heat sink question. I have a recycled CPU heat sink/fan combo, Dell. The back plate on the recycled heat sink/fan holes are being obstructed by the motherboards CPU locking mechanism plate, three screws on the back side. The back plate of the recycled plate won’t fit properly because of this. What I did was drill out the three hole, making them bigger so the plate would sit somewhat properly. I was able to mount the fan/heat sink, with a little effort. Anything wrong with this other than the obvious, buying a new fan/heat sink? Thanks

    FAN PINS

I know this is a rudimentary question but the fans on my case are 3 pin and the motherboard are 4 pin. The 3 pin can be plugged in; is that ok, 3 pin to 4 pin? This is my first attempt at a build. Thanks.
  19. Thanks campy I have no problem buying a new video card if my other comments function but it wouldn’t be anything great. I haven’t played a Game in over 20 years. At that time Doom was all the rage along with Pac-Man, well maybe that was 30 years ago. ? Wouldn’t mind trying somthing thing like the flight simulator. Money’s not and issue just trying to be practical.
  20. THANKS PianoyPlayer88Key I MISSED YOUR POST VERY INFORMATIVE.
  21. Good thought I’ll do just that thanks.
  22. No not gaming yet just try to test a bunch of used parts. If things work out then I’ll spend a few bucks on better components. Still going to stick with the i7-6700’s if they work.
  23. I have an i7-6700k and an i7-6700. Both from electrical damaged computers.
  24. I have a Nivida GeForce GT 730 model P2132 video card, from an older computer. In my new build would I be better off using this or the onboard video of a MSI motherboard, Z270 Gaming M5? My build is to see if various older parts still function including the CPU and Ram. Not to concerned at present if the video card works but is it better than the onboard? Thanks
  25. Thanks as far as port forwarding IP cameras, very good ones, all have been compromised and are susceptible and no firewall or passwords are going to stop someone from getting into your system, home systems. A VPN is the way to go but unfortunately my ISP provided equipment won’t allow this action. So now I’m stuck not being able to remotely view my cameras. But that’s another issue. My concern was the gaming aspect and no one while be hosting as a server on this computer. Thanks again
