My initial thought was that someone must have canceled their pre-order because as soon as I did my order it was out of stock again.
-
Pre-ordered a B550 Tomahawk today and it got pushed back by a day to 6/17. I'm unsure if this happened to all pre-orders for this particular board (I know they initially went live on Friday) or if the delay is only specific to a second allotment.

I chose probably the worst possible time to upgrade my PC. My early adopter tax went to the ROG Strix B550-F at $190. I spent $240 on my mobo back in 2013 so I guess... yay?

^Current GPU is a 1070 Ti. GPU at time of original build was a GTX 780. Plan to upgrade in the fall. Thanks for the tip.

It's been good and, actually, this machine never quite got used as much as I would have liked.

I'm in the process of upgrading my PC to a Ryzen 5 3600. My current PC was built in 2013 and I was planning to use my power supply from that build, a Corsair HX750 80+ Gold (fully modular). There shouldn't be any issues using this with the new parts, correct? The new case will be a Meshify C.

Cool deal. I was a little put off by the fact that the Aorus Elite didn't have USB-c. Not a deal-killer but a little disconcerting at that price point. On a side note, what really kicked all of this off was my wanting to move my current rig (i7-3770K) into a new case. I bought your current fave, the Meshify C! This will be my first AMD build for myself (I did build a PC for my brother in 2003 and used an Athlon XP 2600). I had always gone with Intel previously and at least one of those times I definitely should have gone AMD.

I'm stuck in limbo right now with my PC upgrade-- I have a CPU (Ryzen 5 3600), RAM, and a new case but no motherboard. The impatient part of me has been scouring Microcenter, Newegg, and other sites on the off-chance a decent motherboard becomes available. The rational part of me just says to wait until the B550's are released in less than a week. That all said, I tracked down a Microcenter that has an Aorus Elite Wifi X570 in stock for $210. It would be a 4-hour drive round-trip. Is that a decent enough motherboard or should I just wait for the (cheaper) B550's? I'd like to go for the B550 Tomahawk, which should be about $30-40 cheaper. I'm also just wondering about in-stock availability for the new boards on launch day. It may be a bloodbath/free-for-all!

So I was able to get a used 1070 ti for $285. Hopefully it's not a dud. -
The closest Micro Center to me is 110 miles away so depending on what I'm getting, I like to factor in gas

This is something I've always wondered about. Anyone know how they're able to sell their CPU's significantly discounted from online retailers like Amazon and Newegg?

I'm normally a little cagey about buying used computer parts. I guess it's kind of relative, but what would be a good price for a used 1070 ti? -

I plan to do some overclocking of my CPU this weekend. 4.5 GHz is my goal. I'd like to see how much higher I can go (without delidding). Thanks for the mouse suggestions, Agent. My mouse budget is around $50-60. I think I'll give the Hyper Cloud headset a try. Anyone familiar with this monitor? It was recommended on Tom's Hardware. It was on sale for $360 but now it's gone back up https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-27-gaming-monitor-s2719dgf/apd/210-arcj/monitors-monitor-accessories -

Yeah--I've signed up for email notifications on Nvidia's and tracker sites. My refresh button trigger finger is ready! -
So I did this build in 2013: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant Type Item Price CPU Intel - Core i7-3770K 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler Corsair - H100 92 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard Asus - Sabertooth Z77 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard Memory G.Skill - Trident X 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-2400 Memory Storage Samsung - 840 Pro Series 256 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $119.99 @ Amazon Storage Western Digital - Caviar Black 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $144.99 @ Amazon Video Card EVGA - GeForce GTX 780 3 GB Video Card Case Cooler Master - Storm Trooper ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply Corsair - Professional 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply Optical Drive Asus - DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer $21.89 @ OutletPC Operating System Microsoft - Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit $124.79 @ OutletPC Monitor Samsung - S27B970D 27.0" 2560x1440 Monitor Keyboard Microsoft - SIDEWINDER X4 Wired Gaming Keyboard Mouse Logitech - MX518 Wired Optical Mouse Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $421.66 Mail-in rebates -$10.00 Total $411.66 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-01-10 04:08 EST-0500 and it's gotten little use (especially when considering how much I paid for some of these components back in the day) over the last few years. I plan to keep the CPU/Mobo/RAM for now and see how things shake out with Ryzen 3000 later this year. For now I would like see if I can get my CPU to a stable ~4.5 GHz, maybe higher, to keep pace with a more recent GPU. I've messed around with overclocking the CPU but it's currently running at stock speed. I'm thinking 1070/1070 ti/2060 (open to other suggestions here as well) for graphics I'd like to get close to 1440p gaming. I plan to keep that monitor as a second display but would like a newer monitor better suited for gaming. I may need to add some additional case fans as I currently only have what came with the case. I figure my power supply and case are still good. Case isn't windowed so I don't really care about pretty lights inside. I'd also like some other suggestions for accessories. That keyboard and mouse still work fine but the mouse is approaching 10 years old. I need to get a new gaming headset and/or speakers. A decent mouse pad. In terms of games, I plan to play mainly first person shooters-- Doom, Overwatch, Far Cry series, Crysis series, Bioshock games (I know, I know). I appreciate any and all suggestions!
