  1. Learn not to like Nintendo games... I am glad I never like their games.
  2. I would consider using a RX580 in a DIY NAS for Plex transcoding.
  3. MS Windows subscription don't have to stick with Home and Pro tier. I can easily think of a few ways to charge Windows user Windows 12 Basic: no subscription, not activated, less customized features, NO ChatGPT Windows search Windows 12 Ai: subscription activated, full customization, ChatGPT Windows search. Windows 12 business: subscription activated, replacing volume licensing. Windows don't have to stick a DECADES old business model.
  4. I have good experience with MSI motherboard, the one I am using is MSI MAG B550M Mortar WiFi Gaming. It is more like a mid-tie version ($220 Cdn) but I don't think you can find that anymore. With a quick search, I found this MSI PRO B550M-VC WIFI look pretty good as BUDGET mATX motherboard in spec. Just don't do overclock with it. https://www.amazon.ca/MSI-B550M-VC-ProSeries-Motherboard-Wi-Fi/dp/B0BDCZRBD6 For $135Cdn motherboard included WIFI6E, it is pretty good. I personally would like a motherboard that comes with 2.5Gbps onboard Ethernet, but you will need to pay more. I am just surprised that nowadays it is much easier to find motherboard with WIFI are cheaper than motherboard with 2.5Gbps onboard Ethernet.
  5. Summary While this has been a hunch for a while among the Windows enthusiast community, a new leak seems to be further providing somewhat solidifying evidence that it could indeed be the case, that Microsoft's next-gen OS, casually referred to as Windows 12, could be a subscription-based OS Quotes My thoughts If Windows subscription is only meaning Windows activation, then i am ok using Windows WITHOUT activation. If I can't use Windows AT ALL without paying M$ for the rest of my life then I will leave Windows. I am already grown out of MS Office (10+ years ago) for my personal use and for my own business. LibreOffice and Google Doc basically can cover all my documents need. GAMING is the only reason why I still stay with Windows. But with Valve (Steam) keep supporting and developing in Linux, I have no problem to give up a few games to just gaming on Linux. All my NAS and servers are Debian based. All my computers older than 7 years old are using Linux (Ubuntu/Debian), they just run better and will always get OS updates. 6. Agree. All Rogers is want from this purchase is more market share. Many of these Freedom mobile stores are "dealer owned". Converting these retail stores cost $$. (closing them destroy the purpose of wanting more market share) For Rogers, having another subsidiary company website to maintain almost cost them NOTHING. Rogers basically OWNED the large part of Canadian Internet. Rogers will probably just merge SHAW/Freedom back end system into Rogers. I think at some point Rogers actually don't want Rogers brand show up EVERYWHERE. It doesn't want to give Canadian a sense of "Rogers owned everything and they are too BIG". I knew people don't know Freedom was actually owned by Shaw. And many Canadian already hate Rogers (nickname: Rogers the robbers) and Bell (and others) because of pass bad experiences. (examples: bad customer services, bad billing...). There are many people will actively avoid to use Rogers or Bell... Last, having different brands can let Rogers to have many tiers of pricing to serve different area/customers. (or to confuse them)
  7. Bad day for Canadian!! Canadian want more competition in wireless space. Gov (CRTC) want more competitions in wireless space. Now the same gov(?) allow Rogers to buy Shaw (which including Freedom mobile). Do you think more expensive bills coming from the big 3? https://globalnews.ca/news/7696622/rogers-shaw-merge-deal/ Let's see who own who now... Rogers: Rogers Wireless, Fido Mobile, Chatr Mobile, Cityfone, Primus Wireless, Zoomer Wireless, SimplyConnect + Shaw, Freedom Telus: Telus Mobility, Koodo Mobile, Public Mobile Bell: Bell Mobility, Virgin Mobile, Lucky Mobile, Bell MTS Btw, I am only talking about the big 3 owning Canadian wireless operators here. Don't forget they also own sport teams, radio stations, TV stations, magazine publishers... I think Canadian gov really want them to become too big to fall.
  8. Linus may made good $$ if he still holding GME. Today close at $91. After hour trading at this moment passed $150!!
  9. My default was/is the best "price/performance" + reliable up until now... I mostly had Nvidia GPU Intel CPU, switched all desktops/laptop to Ryzen for the pass couple years WD HDD, but stopped buying HDD for computers Samsung SSD Thermaltake or Cooler Master Case and Power supply. Now start to use Seasonic power supply more. Logitech keyboard, mouse & steering wheel Asus motherboard, recently ASRock and Gigabyte Viewsonic CRT LONG ago, LG LCD monitors for now Yamaha A/V receiver Sony CRT TV, no fix brand for LCD TV.
  10. Finally there is a legit reason to use Intel CPU over AMD. We need the heat from 14nm++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
  11. For Canada, from MS Store Canada $299Cdn (from $649 price). Deal until 2 Dec https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/p/samsung-hmd-odyssey/8n2d0nk20p8m?activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab For USA, from Amazon US $229USD (from $499.99) https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-Wireless-Controllers-XE800ZBA-HC1US/dp/B07HS7R1RT/ref=sr_1_1?crid=37RJOIK4YI9MB&keywords=samsung+odyssey+plus&qid=1574517406&sprefix=samsung+O%2Caps%2C144&sr=8-1 Not the best one, but for these prices, definitely not the worst one. I bought one from MS Store Canada. I am ready for Half-Life: Alyx.
  12. Because Intel CPU are stupidly overpriced for DECADES. Intel still cornered the server CPU market which is their real MEAT. (example: Intel Itanium CPU easily start over $3500US) And they still cornered the laptop and desktop markets. Business/office computers: Have you ever seen non Intel CPU machine? Laptop: Do you still have difficulty to find an AMD laptop that you really want? Home computer: just look at Steam stats https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/processormfg/ Why do you think Intel can easily sell a CPU under $1000US when the last gen of it sold for $2000US?! Do you think Intel will sell them at loss? No way!! You really think just a couple years of AMD success can flip Intel?? Intel = Sun, AMD = Earth
  13. Just a friendly reminder that this game is available to Play for FREE on Steam now!! ?
  14. I would just get a NAS (like Synology or QNAP) can setup your own Cloud storage. It is expandable, probably cheaper than a PC, much smaller and much more energy efficient.
  15. I can understand people want thin and light computer or mobile devices because mobility. I am more don't understand why people want paper thin big TV (example: LG Wallpaper OLED). Because of the thinner TV, speakers get sh!ttier, internal components become external components! It is not saving space at all.
  16. I always POWER OFF/SHUTDOWN my computers. There is no point to put the computer in the sleep for 10+ hours. I will let the computer sleep if I am away from the computer for a while (like less than 2 hrs). All my computers are using SSD and can boot in to Windows from power on within 20s. (some of them are under 10s) So put them in to sleep for faster boot/wake up time is also doesn't make sense too. OTOH, my media server is always on.
  17. You can either use Stick PC (cheaper) or Intel NUC (more expensive). https://www.windowscentral.com/best-stick-pcs PC Stick start around $120US. You can use USB storage (Flash drive, Ext HDD) as expanded storage. Some have built-in SD card slot. These are small enough PC that "stick" on TV HDMI port. https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?d=intel nuc&Order=PRICE Intel NUC is a lunchbox size PC. Barebone system (buy your own RAM and storage) start around $150 USD. These NUC support 2.5" HDD/SSD. There are also pre-built NUC that come with everything including Windows 10 just like any pre-built computer system. Both are fully function PC that run on Windows 10 and support WiFi network. So you can easily transfer data thru network or use online storage. You can setup Remote Desktop connection to "control" these PC to do your daily update or just get a Logitech K400 Wireless keyboard with touch pad as input device. https://www.logitech.com/en-ca/product/wireless-touch-keyboard-k400-plus
  18. Why KFC are going to take down their own official game? BTW, it is not the first time KFC are into "gaming"? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmRQBugNDGQ
  19. WTF game of the year! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1121910/I_Love_You_Colonel_Sanders_A_Finger_Lickin_Good_Dating_Simulator/ It IS an official KFC game!! BTW, the game will be released for FREE on Steam on 24 Sept.

  22. https://www.gamesradar.com/dragon-age-4-becomes-biowares-next-big-focus-as-anthem-loses-its-lead-creators/ This ship is abandoned.
